Multipleunittrains,referredasEMU,areformedinto"units"or"sets"oftwoormorecars.Theyareoftensemi-permanentlycoupledtogether,onlybeinguncoupledinsideaworkshopforheavymaintenance.Thefacilityfortheelectrictractionsystemtobespreadoutalongthetrain,comparedwithcrammingitalltogetherintoabulkylocomotive,allowedanumberofsmallpowerunitstobedistributedunderneaththefloorsofseveralvehiclesinthetrain.TheelectrictractionsystemoftheEMUincludesthepowersupplypartandthetractiontransmissionpartoftheEMUitself.Thepowersupplypartreferstothemaincircuitfromthesubstationtothepantograph,whilethe

transmissionpartoftheEMUitselfreferstothemaincircuit

fromthepantograph,tractiontransformer,tractionconvertertothetractionmotor.Part1:ReadingMaterial

Fig.4-3showsthecircuitdiagramoftractionsystemofonepowerunitofCRH380BEMU.ThepantographontheroofofTC02coachreceivesAC25kVfromOCS,andthentransmitstheelectricenergytothetractiontransformerinstalledunderTC02coachthroughthehigh-voltagecablearrangedontheroofandvehicleend.Thesecondarysideofthetransformerinducesavoltageof4×1850Vandsendsittotheconverterunitunderthemotorvehiclethroughtheconnectingfeederbetweencoaches.Pan—pantograph;CT—contactpowergrid;TF—transformer;TC—tractionconverter;Tm—tractionmotor.Part1:ReadingMaterial

PantographisacomponentthatobtainselectricenergyfromOCS,asshowninFig.4-4.Sincethehigh-voltagelineisconnectedtotwotractionunitsofCRH380BEMU,onlyonepantographneedstoberaisedinnormaloperation,andthepantographisdrivenbycompressedair.CXpantographisselectedforCRH380BEMU,mainlyincludinganinsulator,underframe,shockabsorber,APIMdevice,ADDdevice,upperandlowerarms,upperandlowerguiderods,bowhead,carboncontactstrip,etc.Part1:ReadingMaterial

TheshapeofCRH380BEMUtractiontransformerisshowninFig.4-5.Itisasingle-phasetransformerwithratedvoltageofAC25kV.ThetransformerconvertstheOCSAC25kVontheprimarywindingintothevoltageoffoursecondarywindingsandsuppliespowertothetractionconverter.Thetransformermainlyincludesironcore,winding,insulatingsleeve,oiltank,oilpump,oilcooler,electricforceddraftfanandotherparts.Theoilpump,oilcoolerandelectricforceddraftfanconstitutetheoilcirculatingaircoolingsystemofthetransformer.Part1:ReadingMaterial

CRH380BEMUhasfourtractionconverterssuspendedonthevehiclefloor.Thefunctionofthetractionconverteristoconverttheelectricalsystemtomeettheneedsofthetractiontrainandtractioncontrolfortheformofelectricalenergy.Eachtractionconverterhastwogroupsoffour-quadrantchopper(4QC)modules,onePWMinvertermodule,onegroupoftractioncontrolunit,coolingsystemandintermediateDClink.Eachgroupofinvertercontrolsfourtractionmotors.Themainfunctionoftheconverteristoobtain3200~3600VintermediateDCvoltagefromtheAC1850V/50Hzoutputbythetractiontransformerthroughfour-quadrantrectifier,andthensupplypowertothetractionmotorthroughtheinverteroutputvoltageandthree-phaseACvoltagewithadjustablefrequency.Part1:ReadingMaterialTheoutlineofthetractionconverterisshowninFig.4-6.

CRH380BEMUisequippedwith16tractionmotors,whicharethree-phasefourstageasynchronoustractionmotors.Thetractionmotorsareinstalledonthebogie,andeachwheelsetofthepowerbogieisdrivenbythetractionmotor.Themotorisathree-phasefourpoleasynchronoustractionmotor,whichiscomposedofrotor,stator,casingandaccessories.Thestatoriscomposedofstatorcoreandstatorwinding,whichismainlyusedforgeneratingcircularmagneticfield.Part1:ReadingMaterialTherotoriscomposedofrotorcoreandrotorwinding,whichismainlyusedtoconvertelectricenergyintotractionenergyanddrivethewheelsettorotate.

Thepowersupplypartreferstothemaincircuitfromthesubstationtothepantograph,whilethetransmissionpartoftheEMUitselfreferstothemaincircuitfromthepantograph,tractiontransformer,tractionconvertertothetractionmotor.供电部分指的是从变电站到受电弓,而动车组自身的传动部分指的是从受电弓、牵引变压器、牵引变流器到牵引电机的主电路部分涉及的内容。

ThetransformerconvertstheOCSAC25kVontheprimarywindingintothevoltageoffoursecondarywindingsandsuppliespowertothetractionconverter.变压器将一次绕组上的接触网AC25kV转換为四个二次绕组的电压,并给牵引变流器供电。
