Goodmorning,myrespectedjudgesandteachers.MynameisZhiYin,comingfromHeFeiArtSeniorhighSchool.It’smygreathonortobeherepresentingmylessonwithyou.MylessonistakenfromBeijingNormalUniversityPressModule3Unit9Learning.TodayIwillinterpretmylessoninthefollowingfouraspects:generalanalysis,theteachingmethodology&learningstrategies,teachingprocedure,andteachingreflection.

GeneralAnalysis

◎GuidingTheories

AccordingtothenewGeneralSeniorHighSchoolCurriculumStandardsourclassroomshouldbeaimedattohelpstudentscultivatetheirEnglishsubjectcorecompetenceswhichincludelanguageability,learningability,thinkingcapabilityandculturalawareness.Howcanweachievethegoal?Weneedtointegrate6componentsofthecurriculumintotheclassbyadoptingtheactivity-basedapproachtoEnglishlearningwhichadvocatestudentslearnEnglishthroughaseriesoftheme-basedactivitieswheretheygothroughthelearningprocessesofperceivingandunderstanding,applyingandpracticing,transferringandcreating.OnlyweteachersowntheBigIdeacanweachieveaneffectiveclasswhichfosterstudents’corecompetences.NowwelookatthediscourseanalysisundertheBigIdea.

◎DiscourseAnalysis

Nowlookatthestructureofthisunitfirst.Itrytoanswer3questions:what,whyandhow.Asforwhat,thethemeofthisunitisHumanandself.Thetopicofthisunitislearning.Asforwhy,theaimofthisunitistohelpstudentsformcorrectoutlookonlearningandstrivetobeanactivelifelonglearner.Andthevalueorientationofthisunitis“WillingtoLearn,GoodatLearningandLifelongLearning”.Thelastpointishow,thisunitfocusesonthetopicoflearningthroughlistening,speaking,reading,writing,viewingandotherdifferentclassesandactivities,guidesstudentstoexplorethemeaningofthethemefromvariouspoints,guidesstudentstothinkabouttheirownlearningstrategies,learningmethods,attemptstoregulateandmanagethelearningprocess,andstrivestobecomeactivelifelonglearners.

◎LearnersAnalysis

Tomakemyteachingpracticalandeffective,theanalysisofthetargetstudentsisalsonecessary.Theteachingobjectofthisclassisgradetwoofseniorhighschool.IwanttopresentwiththeKWLchart.

AsfortheanalysisofstudentsIwanttopresentwiththeKWLchart.Firstly,mystudentsareactive,enthusiasticandhaveagoodsenseofteamwork.Theyhaveknownsomeeffectivewaysoflearningandpreviewsomekeywordsandexpressionsinthetext.Buttheydon’thaveaclearanddeepunderstandingabouthowtobeanactivelearner.Eventheyhavenoideaaboutlifelonglearningandunabletousesomelearningstrategies.

Basedontheaboveanalysis,Ihavesetthefollowinglearningobjectivesinthreeparts.First,bytheendoftheclass,thestudentswillbeabletoknowlearningmannersanddifferences,acquireandteasetheconceptofactivelearning,aswellassummarizethespecificmeasuresoflearningmethods.Italsoisthefocalpointofthisunit.Second,studentsarerequiredtouseskimmingandscanningtomatchsomebasicinformationtoeachparagraph.AnduseTheForgettingCurveintodailystudy.Thirdly,explorewhatattitudeshouldbeadoptedtodealwithlearningandlifeunderdifferentculturalbackgroundssoastoimprovestudents'logicalandcriticalthinkingAsitisthelearningdifficultpointofthisclass,studentswillformanattitudeoflifelonglearningbyteamwork.
