there’smuchthatwe’vebeenremindedoffromthosetwoterribledays,whetherit’showamericaneverrestsuntilmurderersarebroughttojustice,whetherit’susamabinladinorahmadabukhattalah,orthatalways,alwayswefindwaystokeepourpeopleassafeaswecaninadangerousworld,andthearbimplementationandthedailywrestlingwithriskmanagementunderscorehowmuchthateffortiscentraltoallofourlives.9/11/2022and9/11/2022,thesewerebothdaysthatforeverchangedusaspeople,aspublicservants,andasacountry.butparticularlywhenwelookupattheflagsraisedathalf-stafftoday,wehavetofindwaystomakesurethatwecarryoninthespiritofthosewelostandthatwefindsomeways–bigorsmall–tofindlessonsinterriblelosses.
