GeneralPrinciplesforCombinedCircuitofCentralizedInterlocking
1Scope
Thisstandardisgeneralrequirementsforthecombinationofcentralizedinterlocking,which
establishesthecombinationbetweencentralizedinterlockingandsectionblock,liaisonbetweenyards,
radiosignallingandtrainprotectionforshuntinglocomotive,trafficcontrolsystem,traincontrol
center,radioblockcenter,centralizedsignalingmonitoringsystem,ZPW-2000seriestrackcircuitin
station,andcombinationwithautomationsystemofmarshallingstation,aswellasgeneralprinciples
oflocomotivedepotliaisoncircuit,heavydowngradeapproachingsuccessiveroutecircuit,combined
circuitofreceiving-departuretrackwithbranchingturnout,thenon-routeshuntingcircuit,local
controlturnoutcircuit,throughbuttoncircuit,stationcodingcircuit,repeatingsignalcircuit,route
indicatorcircuit,andshuntingindicatorcircuit.
Thisstandardappliestoresearch,design,testing,andapplicationofthecombinationofcentralized
interlockingwithothersystem.Inaddition,thedesignandresearchofcentralizedinterlockingand
othercombinedcircuitscanbeimplementedforreference.
2General
2.1
Thecombinedcircuitsrelatedtotrainoperationsafetyshallcomplywiththe"fail-safe"principle
ofrailwaysignaling.
2.2
Whenrepeatingrelayisaddedincombinedcircuits,theconsequenceswhichendangeringtrain
operationsafetyduetoinconsistentrelayactionshallbeprevented.Whenrelaycontactsareshared,
unexpectedpowersupplyviathesharedcontactsshallbeprevented.
2.3
Whendatacommunicationorothercombinationmethodsareused,theconsequenceswhich
endangeringtrainoperationsafetyduetotransmissionerrors,informationloss,informationdelay,
etc.shallnotbecaused.
2.4
Theelectriclinesleadingtooutdoorsshallnotusetheearthasworkloop.
2.5
Protectivemeasuresshallbetakentopreventconsequenceswhichendangeringtrainoperation
safetycausedbyindoorlinebreak,andoutdoorlinebreak,mixedline,shortcircuitandgrounding.
2.6
Electricisolationmeasuresshallbetakenfordatacommunicationtransmissionlinesbetween
systems.
2.7
TheACpowerledtotheoutdoorsshallbeprotectedbyacircuitbreaker;theDCpowerledto
theoutdoorsshallbesuppliedbyarectifierdeviceandaseparatepowersupplymoduleshallbeinstalledwhen
theDCpowerisdirectlysuppliedbythepowerpanel.
2.8
Inelectrictractionsection,anti-electrifiedinterferencemeasuresshallbeconsidered.
2.9
Lightningprotectionmeasuresshallbetakeninaccordancewithrelevantregulations.
2.10
Thetransmissionofinter-systemcommunicationmethodsshallcomplywithrelevantprotocolstandards.
3CombinationwithSectionBlock
3.1CombinationwithAutomaticBlock
3.1.1
Relevantinformationshallbeprovidedtothesectionaccordingtothedisplaysofhomesignal

androutesetting.
3.1.2
Thefollowinginformationshallbeprovidedtothestation:
a)Tracksectioninformationrequiredforapproachlocking;
b)Tracksectioninformationrequiredforstartingsignalatclear;
c)Therequiredinformationforthecontrolconsoletodisplaytheapproaching&departureofa
train,approachingaudionotificationandsectionalarm;
d)Otherrequiredinformation.
3.2CombinationwithSemi-automaticBlock
3.2.1
Theconditionsofsectionblockshallbecheckedbeforethestartingsignaliscleared,andthe
checkingshallbekeptcontinuouslyduringthesignalbeingatclear.
3.2.2
Afterthedeparturerouteislocked,theblockshallnotbecancelledarbitrarily.Tocancelthe
block,thedeparturerouteshallbereleasedfirstly.
3.2.3
Whenthetrainstartsandoccupiesthedepartureroute,theblockshallnotbereleased
automaticallywithoutmanualhandling.
3.2.4
Theapproachingtrainshalloccupytheapproachingsectionandthefirsttracksectionin
advanceofthehomesignaltoconstitutethetrainarrivalconditions.
3.2.5
Thecontrolconsoleshallbeequippedwithblockbutton,recoverybuttonandfailurerecovery
buttonwithleadseal,receivingblockindicator,departureblockindicatorandfailurerecoverycounter.
3.2.6
Theshuntingwithinstationshallnotaffectthehandledblockstate.
3.2.7
"Facingdepartureconflict"shallnotoccurforthecircuit.
Note:"Facingdepartureconflict"meansthattwoadjacentstations(posts)simultaneouslyput
thestartingsignalsatcleartothesamesectionline.
3.3CombinationwithAutomaticInter-stationBlock
3.3.1
Afterthedeparturerouteisestablished,theautomaticinter-stationblockshallbeformedautomatically.
3.3.2
Theautomaticinter-stationblockconditionsshallbecheckedforclearingthestartingsignal,
andtheconditionsshallbecheckedcontinuouslyduringthesignalbeingatclear.
3.3.3
Afterthetrainentersthedepartureroute,thestartingsignalshallbeatstopautomatically.
Beforetheblockisreleased,thestartingsignalinthestationtowardsthesamesectioncannotbe
clearedagain.
3.3.4
Thefollowingstateindicationsshallbedisplayedonthecontrolconsole:
a)Receivinganddeparturestates;
b)Sectionclearedoroccupied;
c)Thesectiontrackdetectiondeviceisnormalorfailed;
d)Othercorrespondingbuttonsandindicatorsrequiredwhenaxlecounterorotherequipmentis
used.
3.3.5
"Facingdepartureconflict"shallnotoccurforthecircuit.
3.4SectionDirectionalCircuit
3.4.1
Whenthewholeblocksectionofbidirectionalautomaticblockorautomaticinter-stationblock
isclear,theoppositestationdoesnotsetthedepartureroute,andtherunningdirectionshallbe
automaticallychangedafterthedeparturerouteissetbytheoriginalreceivingstation.
3.4.2
Whentherunningdirectioncannotbechangedforsomereason,theauxiliarymethodcanbe
used.Aftertherunningdirectionischangedinauxiliarymode,thesectionshallbemanually
confirmedtobeclearwhenthestartingsignalisputatclearforthefirsttime.
3.4.3
Thecontrolconsoleshallbeequippedwithreceivingdirectionindicator,departuredirection

indicator,thewholesectionoccupiedindicator,auxiliarysettingindicator,receivinganddeparture
auxiliarysettingbutton,generalauxiliarysettingbutton,andauxiliarysettingcounter.Thedirection
changepermissionbuttoncanbesetasneeded.
3.4.4
"Facingdepartureconflict"shallnotoccurforthecircuit.
3.4.5
Thedirectionchangeoperationshallbeeffectiveonce,andthedirectionshallnotbechanged
automaticallywhentheconditionsarechangedfromnotbeingmettobeingmetintheprocessof
directionchangeforsomereason.
3.5LiaisonCircuitbetweenStations
3.5.1
Fortheoriginalreceivingstationinbidirectionalsection,whenthewholesectionisclear,
afterthedeparturerouteisset,therunningdirectioncanbechangedautomatically.Forthestationof
unidirectionalsection,afterthewholesectionischeckedtobeclear,thestartingsignalcanbeputat
clear.
3.5.2
Whenthereisanaspectcorrelationbetweenthestartingsignalandhomesignalinthesame
directionbetweentwostations,theapproachlockingsectionoftherouteprotectedbythehomesignal
shallstartfromthefirsttracksectioninadvanceofthestartingsignal.Whenthelengthofthe
approachlockingsectionisstilllessthantrainbrakingdistance,theapproachlockingsectionshallbe
extended.
3.5.3
Thecontrolconsoleshallbeequippedwiththewholesectionoccupiedindicatorsandhome
signalatclearindicatorsoftheadjacentstation.Thebidirectionalsectionshallalsobeequippedwith
trainrunningdirectionindicatorsandadjacentstationdepartureindicators.
3.5.4
"Facingdepartureconflict"shallnotoccurforthecircuit.
3.5.5
Whenthecomputerinterlockingequipmentiscombinedwiththeliaisoncircuitbetween
stations,afterthecomputerinterlockingequipmentisstarted-up,thecross-checkrelationshallnotbe
automaticallycancelledwithoutmanualsetting.
4CombinationwithLiaisonLinebetweenYards
4.1CombinedCircuitsofLiaisonLinebetweenYards
4.1.1
Wheneachyardofthestationiscontrolledbyindependentinterlockingequipment,theliaison
circuitshallbesetineachyard.Theliaisoncircuitbetweenyardsshallmeettherequirementsof
unidirectionalorbidirectionaloperationoftrainsorshuntingtrainsetswithorwithoutreceivingroute
signalontheliaisonline.
4.1.2
Whenanyofthetracksectionoftheliaisonlinebetweenyardsisoccupied,theroutetowards
theliaisonlineshallnotbeset,exceptforcalling-onroute.
4.1.3
Afteranyyardarrangesitsroutetoliaisonlinebetweenyards,therouteofanotheryardtowardsthe
liaisonlineshallnotbeset.
4.1.4
Whenthereisanaspectcorrelationbetweentwoadjacenttrainsignalsinthesamedirectionon
theliaisonline,thecombinedcircuitsshallmeettherequirementsofsignalaspect.
4.1.5
Fortwotrainsignalsinthesamedirectionbelongingtotwoyardsrespectively,whenthereis
anaspectcorrelationbetweenthem,theapproachsectionoftheadvancesignalshallstartfromthe
firstsectionprotectedbytherearsignal.Whentheapproachsectionoftheadvancesignalislessthan
thebrakingdistanceofthetrain,theapproachlockingsectionshallbeextended.
4.1.6
Whenthereisnotrainsignalontheliaisonline,thetrainrouteshallbecomposedoftwoparts
controlledbytwoyardsseparately.Onlywhenthebothsegmentsofroutearelockedcanthesignalbe
putatclear,andthesignalcanbeputatstopatanytimebybothyards.Whenreleasingroute,the

precededsegmentcanbereleasedonlyaftertheadvancesegmentisreleased.Whentheadvance
segmentisoccupied,theprecededsegmentshallnotbereleased.
4.1.7
Thecontrolconsoleineachyardshallbeequippedwithcross-checkindicatorstosupervisethe
routesettingfromotheryardstoliaisonline,liaisontrackoccupied/unoccupiedstates,andsignalat
clear(oragreetodepart)indicatorsofadjacentyard.Otherindicatorsorcorrespondingpromptscan
besetasneeded.
4.1.8
Whenthecomputerinterlockingequipmentiscombinedwiththeliaisoncircuitbetweenyards,
afterthecomputerinterlockingequipmentisstarted-up,thecross-checkrelationshallnotbeautomatically
cancelledwithoutmanualhandling.
Note:"cross-checkrelation"referstocheckrelationsamongsignalingequipmentrooms,yardsor
bothendsonthesamestationtrack.
4.2CombinedCircuitsofCrossoverTurnoutbetweenYards
4.2.1
Crossoverturnoutsshallbecontrolledbyoneyard,andlockedatthenormalpositionwhich
separatingtwointerlockingareasforprotection.Thepositionswitchingoftheturnoutshallbeagreed
bytheotheryard.
4.2.2
Aftertheturnoutisreturnedtonormalposition,theagreementcanbecancelledatanytime.
4.2.3
Forsettingarouteviareversepositionoftheturnout,thesignalshallbeputatclearonly
aftercheckingtheagreementofotheryard.
4.2.4
Thetrainorshuntingrouteswhichpassingthroughthecrossoverturnoutshallconsistoftwo
partsofrouteoftwoyards.Thesignalcanbeclearedonlyafterbothroutesarelocked,andthesignal
canbeputatstopatanytimebybothyards.Whenreleasingroute,theprecededsegmentcanonlybe
releasedaftertheadvancesegmentisreleased.Whentheadvancesegmentisoccupied,thepreceded
segmentshallnotbereleased.
4.2.5
Thefollowingbuttonsandindicatorsshallbesetonthecontrolconsolesoftwointerlocking:
a)Theagreetomoveturnoutindicatorshallbesetintheinterlockingcontrollingthecrossover
turnout;
b)Theagreetomoveturnoutbuttonshallbesetintheotherinterlocking;
c)Normalpositionindicatorandreversepositionindicatorofturnouts;
d)Sectionoccupiedindicatorsandsignalatclearindicatorscanalsobeprovidedasneeds.
4.3CombinedCircuitsbetweenArrivingYardandHump
4.3.1
Thereceivingyardshallgettheagreementfromhumpsignalingequipmentroomwhensetting
ahumpingroutefromreceivingyardtohump.
4.3.2
Whenthe"Permittopush"operationishandledinhumpshuntingyard,thehumpauxiliary
andrepeatingsignalshallfullyrepeattheindicationofthehumpsignal.Whenthe"Pre-push"
operationishandled,thehumpauxiliaryanditsrepeatingsignalshalldisplayyellowaspect,andthe
humpauxiliaryanditsrepeatingsignalshallbeputatstopautomaticallywhenthetrainhasbeen
propelledtothepredeterminedbrakingpointinrearofthehumpcrest.
4.3.3
Afterhumpingrouteisset,shuntingsignalonthehumpingrouteshallbeautomaticallyputat
clearorstopfollowingtheforwardorbackwardsignaldisplayedbythehumpauxiliarysignal.
4.3.4
Afterthehumpingrouteislocked,thehumpingroutecanbeautomaticallyreleasedonlywhen
thetrainsethasbeencompletelypushedoutofthearrivingyard.Ifthehumpingrouteisnotoccupied,
theoperatorinhumpsignalingequipmentroomshallbeabletousethepermit-to-pushorpre-push
buttontoputthesignalatstop,andthehumpingrouteshallbereleasedaftera30stimelimit.Ifthe
humpingrouteisoccupied,thehumpingrouteshallnotbecancelledarbitrarilybyhumpsignaling

equipmentroom,buthumpingsignalcanbeputatstop.
4.3.5
Afterthehumpingrouteissetandthehumpsignalisatclear,thearrivingyardshalllose
controlrightofthehumpingroute.Ifnecessary,cut-offhumpingsignalbuttoncanbepressedtoput
humpauxiliaryandrepeatingsignalatstop,butthehumpingrouteshallnotbereleased.
4.3.6
Thearrivingyardshallnotarrangetrainrouteorshuntingroutetostationtrackwhichhave
