Abatterythermaleventisarapidchemicalchainreactionthatoccursinsideabatterycell.Theenergystoredinthebatteryisreleasedsuddenly,whichcancauseoutgassingandfire.Abatterythermaleventcanbetriggeredbyphysicaldamagetothebattery,improperreplacementorrepair,ortemperaturesoutsidethebattery’soperatingrange.

Actimmediatelyifyounoticeanyofthefollowingsignsofabatterythermalevent:

Thelithium-ionbatteryoradevicethatcontainsonebeginstosmokeoremitsparksorsoot.

Thebatterypouchsuddenlyandquicklypuffsout.
