concernedundertheorganizationofChinaMetallurgicalConstructionAssociation(CMCA)in

NoticeonPrintingandDistributingtheDevelopmentand

accordancewiththerequirementsof

RevisionPlanofEngineeringConstructionStandardsandCodesinBatch

2006(2)(JIANBIAO

[2006]No.136)issuedbytheformerMinistryofConstruction(MOC).

Duringthedraftingprocess,theCodedevelopmentteamhasmadein-depthinvestigationsand

studies.Basedontheweldedpipesproductiontechnologiesinrecentyearsandsummarizingthe

domesticprocessdesignofweldedpipes,theyhavewidelysolicitedtheopinionsandsuggestions

fromChinasweldedpipeproducers,research&designinstitutes,universities,feedstocksuppliers,

end-users,equipmentmanufacturers,industrialassociationsandexpertsinthefieldaswell.By

analyzingandstudyingthewell-provenexperiencebothathomeandabroadforyears,whiletaking

ThisCodeisformulatednotonlytostandardizetheprocessdesignofwelded-pipemillsets

andassurethequalityofprocessdesignconcerned,butalsotopromotetheadvancementin

technologicalprocess,equipmentoutfitofthewelded-pipemillsetsandtheproductiontechnologies

forweldedpipes.

ThisCodeisapplicabletotheprocessdesignofconstruction,modernizationandexpansion

projectsofmillsetsforproductionoflongitudinalhigh-frequencylongitudinalweldedpipes,

longitudinalsubmerged-arcweldedpipes,spiralsubmerged-arcweldedpipes,andindustrial

stainlesssteelweldedpipes.

Themillsetsforproductionofhighfrequencylongitudinalweldedpipesspiralsubmerged-

arcweldedpipesshouldusestripcoilsasthefeedstock.Themillsetforproductionoflongitudinal

submerged-arcweldedpipesshouldusethesinglecut-to-lengthsheetsasthefeedstock.Andthe

millsetforproductionofstainlesssteelcontinuousweldedpipesshallusethestripcoilsasthe

feedstock,themillsetforproductionofstainlesssteeldiscontinuousweldedpipesshouldusethe

singlecut-to-lengthsheetsasthefeedstock.

4.0.2

Themillsetsforproductionofhighfrequencylongitudinalweldedpipes,spiralsubmerged-

arcweldedpipesandstainlesssteelcontinuousweldedpipesshouldusetheheavyorslitstripcoilsas

thefeedstock.ForERWandSSAW,theweightperunitwidthofthehot-rolledstripcoilsshould

notbelessthan16kg/mm,andthatofthecold-rolledstripcoilshouldnotbelessthan8kg/mm.For

EFW,theweightperunitwidthofthehot-rolledstripcoilsshouldnotbelessthan10kg/mmand

thatofthecold-rolledstripcoilsshouldnotbelessthan8kg/mm.

5.1ProductionProcessofHighFrequencyLongitudinalWeldedPipe

5.1.1

Theproductionofhighfrequencylongitudinalweldedpipesshallinvolvesuchworkingprocedures

asstrippreparation,formingandwelding,welddressing,sizingandcutting,andpipefinishing.

5.1.2strippreparation

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofcoilcharging,uncoiling,

leveling,cropping,splicing,edgemachining,andstripflawdetection.Otherstepsmaybeaddedduly

whenrequiredfromthespecificproductmix.

5.1.3formingandwelding

Theprocedureshallcomprisebothstepsofformingandwelding.

5.1.4welddressing

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofinsideandoutsideflashtrimming,

ultrasonicdetectionafterformingandwelding,onlineweldheattreatment,andweldcooling.

5.1.5sizingandcutting

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofsizingandstraightening,and

cuttingtolength.

5.1.6pipefinishing

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofsampling,pipeendtreating,inside

cleaning,hydrostatictesting,flawdetection,manualinspection,mar专用kingandproductcollection.

Otherstepsmaybeaddeddulywhenrequiredfromthespecificproductmix.

5.2ProductionProcessofLongitudinalSubmerged-ArcWeldedPipes

5.2.1

Theproductionoflongitudinalsubmerged-arcweldedpipesshallinvolvesuchworking

proceduresassheet/platepreparation,weldingofarcstriking/quenchingstrip,edgemachining,

forming,pre-welding,insideandoutsidewelding,weldflawdetection,expanding,hydrostatic

testing,post-testwelddetection,flatendchamfering,bevelenddetection,manualinspection,

weighing/lengthmeasuring/marking,andproductcollection.Otherproceduresmaybeaddedduly

whenrequiredfromthespecificproductmix.

5.2.2

Sheets/platestobeusedasthefeedstockfortheweldedpipemillsetsshallbequalifiedin

thenon-destructivetest(NDTforshort).Onlyifthesheets/platesaresuppliedwithcertificatesof

NDT,maytheNDTprocedurebeneglectedinthemillsets.

5.2.3arcstrikingquenchingedgeprocessing

The/procedureshouldbebeforetheprocedure.

5.2.4sheetplateedgepre-bending

The/procedureshouldbebeforethemainformingprocedure.

5.2.5pre-welding

Inthe人人文库procedure,continuousweldingshallapplyinsteadofspotwelding.

plusofflineinsideweldingandoutsideweldingprocess.

5.3.4pipefinishing

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofweldrepair,pipeendtreating,inside

cleaning,sampling,weldNDT,manualinspection,weighing/measuring/marking,andproductcollection.

Otherstepslikeendsizing,hydrostatictestingandbodyflawdetectionmaybeaddeddulywhenrequired

fromthespecificproductmix.

5.4ProductionProcessofStainlessSteelContinuousWeldedPipes

5.4.1

Theproductionofstainlesssteelcontinuousweldedpipesshallinvolvesuchworkingprocedures

asstrippreparation,formingandwelding,welddressing,sizingandcutting,andpipefinishing.

5.4.2strippreparation

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofcoilcharging,uncoiling,leveling,crop

cutting,buttwelding,looperstorage,andstripcleaning.

5.4.3formingandwelding

Theprocedureshallincludebothstepsofformingand(insideandoutside)

welding.

5.4.4welddressing

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofinsideexcessweldmetalremoval,outside

excessweldmetalremoval,andcoldweldmachining.

5.4.5sizingandcutting

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofonlinesizing,straightening,NDT,

diametermeasurement,andcuttingtolength.

5.4.6pipefinishing

Theprocedureshallincludethestepsofsamp专用ling,pipeendtreating,manual

inspection,hydrostatictesting,NDT,markingandproductpacking.Incaseofnon-brightheat

treatment,picklingpassivationstepshallbeaddeddulyinthisprocedure.

5.4.7

Theproductionofstainlesssteelcontinuousweldedpipesshallinvolvesuchworkingproceduresas

weldedpipecleaningandheattreatment,onlineoroffline;inparticular,theonlinecleaningandheat

treatmentshallbedownstreamtheprocedureofsizing.Formillsetsof#76orsmallerforproductionof

austeniticstainlesssteelweldedpipes,brightheattreatmentprocessshouldapply.

5.4.8

However,hydrochloricacidpicklingprocessshallnotapplyforproductionofausteniticstainless

steelweldedpipes.

5.4.9

Otherproceduresmaybeaddeddulywhenrequiredfromthespecificproductmix.

5.5ProductionProcessofStainlessSteelDiscontinuousWeldedPipes

5.5.1

Theproductionofstainlesssteeldiscontinuousweldedpipesshallinvolvesuchworking

proceduresassheet/platepreparation,cuttingtolength,arcstriking/quenchingwelding,edge

machining,forming,pre-welding,welding,pipeendtreating,heattreatment,picklingpassivation,

straightening,hydr人人文库ostatictesting,weldNDT,manualinspection,weighing/measuring/marking,and

productpacking.WhenRBformingprocessisapplied,aroundingprocedureshallbearranged

welding

downstreamtheprocedure.

5.5.2

Sheets/platestobeusedasthefeedstockfortheweldedpipemillsetsshallbequalifiedin

thenon-destructivetest(NDTforshort).Onlyifthesheets/platesaresuppliedwithcertificatesof

NDT,maytheNDTprocedurebeneglectedinthemillsets.

5.5.3sheetplateedgepre-bending

The/procedureshouldbebeforethemainformingprocedure.

5.5.4

Hydrochloricacidpicklingprocessshallnotapplyforproductionofausteniticstainlesssteel

weldedpipes.

5.5.5

Otherproceduresmaybeaddeddulywhenrequiredfromthespecificproductmix.

6EquipmentSelectionforProductionofWeldedPipes

6.1EquipmentSelectionforProductionofHighFrequencyLongitudinalWeldedPipes

6.1.1

Themillsetsforproductionofhighfrequencylongitudinalweldedpipesshallbeequipped

withbasicautomationcontrolsystemforthewholeline.

6.1.2coilcharging

Intheprocedurecoilpreparationequipmentshallbeprovided,withfunctions

ofautomaticcoilpositioningandcoilcenterlevelpositioning.

6.1.3uncoiling

Equipmentselectionfortheprocedureshallbemadeasfollows:

Mechanicalorhydraulicuncoilershallbeinstalled.

Theuncoilershallhavetailformingfunction,andshouldbeequippedwithstripallowance

detectorandalignmentdevices.

Theuncoilershallhavetensioningfunction,andthetensioningforceshallbeadequateto

keepacoilfrombecomingloosewhenthestripheadentersthelevelerorlooper.

Theuncoilershallnotcauseanyscratchonthesurfaceofthestrip.

6.1.4leveling

Intheprocedure,arollerlevelershallbeprovided,withfive(5)rollersormore.

6.1.5head-tailcutter专用

Intheprocedure,acuttershallbeprovidedtocutoffthestripheadandtail

endsandstripalignmentdevicesshallbeinstalledinfrontofandbehindthecutter.

6.1.6splicing

Theproceduremaybeimplementedbyeitherbuttweldingpluslooperorhead-to-

tailjoining.Incaseofsplicingbybuttweldingpluslooperequipmentselectionshallbemadeas
