hisinitialexperiencewasfarfromanimmediatecalling.

In1936,MarkRothkobeganwritingabook,whichhenevercompletedaboutthesimilaritiesinthechildren'sartandthe

workofmodernpainters.Theworkofmodernists,whichwasinfluencedbyprimitive(原始的)art,accordingtohim,couldbe
