5.strikev.敲响,报时(struckstruck)

Atthatmomenttheclockstrucktwelve.

hit,beat,knock,strike的用法及区别

(1)hit表示“有目标地打”,着重“打击”某一点。如:

Hehithimontheface.他打了他的脸。

也有“打击,袭击,打中”之意。如:

Oneofthestoneshitthewindow.有一块石头打中了窗户。

Anearthquakehitthedistrict.这个地区受到了地震的袭击。

(2)beat表示“连续地打或拍”,有“殴打、击败”之意。如:

Thatmanwasbeatenuntilhewasblackandblue.那个人被打得青一块、紫一块。

TheIraqarmywasbeaten.伊拉克军队被打败了。

另外,beat还可表示心脏或脉搏等“跳动,如:

Hecouldfeelhisheartbeatingfast.他能感到他的心跳快。

(3)knock表示“敲;打;撞击”之意时常与at/on连用。如:

Listen!Whoisknockingat/onthedoor?听!谁在敲门呢?

Heknockedthegirldown.他把那个女孩撞倒了。

(4)strike表示突然地、一次性地“打;击”,不一定都是有意的。如:

Shewasstruckdeadbylightning.她被雷电击死了。

Strikewhiletheironishot.趁热打铁。

另外,strike还可表示敲响,报时。如:

Theclockisstriking12.钟在敲12点。

6handn.(表或机器的)指针;手v.递

hourhand时针minutehand分针secondhand秒针

second-hand二手的

handin上交

一、介词

OnWednesdayevening,wewenttotheTownHall.

Itwouldstriketwelveintwentyminutes1time.

Fifteenminutespassedandthen,atfivetotwelve,theclockstopped.

以上是摘自本课的句子,我们今天重点来学习介词:in/on/at/during/till与until。

1、用in的时间短语有:

①表示——天中的某段时间:inthemorning;intheafternoon;intheevening

②表示周、月份、年份:inaweek:inJanuary;inFeb;in1992

③表示季节:insummer;inspring;inautumn;inwinter

“in+表示时间段”的短语可以表示“在某段时间之内”,这时可以与现在时、过去时或将来时连用,•般与完

成某动作有关;还可译为“……时间之后”,一般与将来时连用。根据时态判别in表示的含义

2、用on的时间短语有:

①表示星期:onMonday;onFriday

②表示日期:onJune1st:on23rdMarch(在书写日期时没有冠词,但在口语中则分别读为:onJunethe

③表示星期+日期:onMonday,June1st

④表示具体时间:onWednesdayevening;onfineafternoon;onthatday

3、用at的时间短语有:

①表示确切的时间:atfivetotwelve;atteno'clock

②表示用餐时间:atlunch/dinnertime;atteatime

③表示其他时刻:atnight;atnoon;atmidnight;atthattime

4、during在……期间,后必须跟一个名词,可以指整个一段时间,有时可以用in替代

Hehasphonedfourtimesduringthelasthalfhour.

Imethimsometimeduringtheweek.(不能用in代替)我是在这一周的某天遇到他的。

duringtheholiday强调假期的从头到尾

Heenjoyedhimselfduringhisholiday.

intheholiday强调这段时间其中某一点时间,并不表示自始至终

Iwascaughtinanaccidentintheholiday.

5、from…till…指一段明确的时间:

ThetouristseasonrunsfromJunetillOctober.

6、untilprep.&coin.直到...时候,直到什么时候为止,直到什么时候才

until引导的时间状语从句点钟,主句和从句可以都用一般过去时(最习惯的一种用法),也可以在主句和从

句中任选一个用过去完成。

Ican'tenterforthesportsmeetinguntiltomorrow.

二、therebe句型及其否定回答

therebe句型在英语中属于高频句型,意为“有”,be动词形式根据具体情况而定。

一般现在时:thereis/are

Thereisabirdinthetree.

Therearesomecatsoverthere.

一般过去时:therewas/were

Therewassomewaterinthehole.

Thereweremanypeopleplayingbasketball.

•般将来时:therewillbe/thereisgoingtobe

Therewillbemoreandmorepollutionontheearthifwedon'tdoanythingtostopthepollution,

therebe句型的否定回答有两种方式,但是含义相同。

Isthereanyteaintheput?

No,Thereisn'tanyteainthepot./Thereisnoteainthepot.

Isthereanybodyatthedoor?

No,thereisnlanybodyatthedoor./Thereisnobodyatthedoor.

Therebe句型的这种回答也可以扩展到其他疑问句。如:

Didyougoanywhereyesterday?

No,Ididn'tgoanywhereyesterday./1wentnowhereyesterday.
