Strengths:

Secondly,Ihavemadeaconsciousefforttodifferentiatemyteachingmethodstomeettheneedsofdifferentlearners.Thisincludesincorporatingavarietyofactivitiesandassessmentsthatcatertoarangeoflearningstylesandabilities.

Lastly,Ihavedonemybesttokeepupwithcurrenteventsandincorporatethemintomylessons.Forexample,Ihaveusedrecentnewsstoriesandsocialmediatrendsasdiscussiontopicstoengagestudentsinmeaningfulconversations.

Weaknesses:

Despitemyeffortstodifferentiateinstruction,Ihavefounditchallengingtoprovideenoughsupportforstrugglingstudentswithoutsacrificingthepaceoftheclassformoreadvancedlearners.ThisisanareawhereIwouldliketoimprovemovingforward.

Ihavealsostruggledwithtimemanagement.Teachingapackedcurriculumwhilealsotryingtocoverotherimportantissues,suchasmentalhealthandsocialjustice,hasbeendifficult.Ineedtoworkonbeingmoreefficientwithmylessonplanningandfindingcreativewaystoincorporatetheseissueswithouttakinguptoomuchclasstime.

FuturePlans:

Goingforward,Iplantocontinuetofocusoncreatingapositiveclassroomenvironmentwhilealsotryingtoprovidemoresupportforstrugglingstudents.Iwillalsoworkonbeingmoreefficientwithmytimemanagement,aswellasfindingnewandengagingwaystoincorporatecurrenteventsandimportantissuesintomylessons.

Furthermore,Iwouldliketoreflectonmyownteachingpracticesmorefrequentlyandsolicitfeedbackfrommystudentsinordertoimprovemyteachingpractice.Iplantousevariousassessmenttools,suchassurveysandjournalentries,togatherinformationaboutmyeffectivenessasateacher.

OneofthechallengesIhavefacedthissemesterhasbeenmanagingtheworkloadforbothmyselfandmystudents.Withapackedcurriculumandlimitedtime,itcanbedifficulttocoverallthematerialandstillallowstudentstoexploreanddeepentheirunderstandingofthematerial.OnesolutionIhavefoundistoincorporatemoreproject-basedlearningactivities,whichallowstudentstotakemoreownershipoftheirlearningandworkattheirownpace.

Lookingahead,Iamexcitedtoimplementsomenewideasandstrategiesinmyteachingpractice.Oneoftheseistoincorporatemoretechnologyintomylessons,suchasusingonlinetoolsandappstoenhancestudentlearningandengagement.Anotheristomakegreateruseofformativeassessments,suchasexitticketsandquizzes,togaugestudentunderstandingandadjustmyteachingaccordingly.
