李清照《声声慢》开头的七对叠词“寻寻觅觅,冷冷清清,凄凄惨惨戚戚。”而且“寻寻，清清，凄凄”属平声，“觅觅，冷冷，惨惨，戚戚”是仄声，平仄交替，除了音韵的美感还有感情的郁结，翻译难度极大。美国翻译家KennethRexroth译为Search.Search.Seek.Seek.Cold.Cold.Clear.Clear.Sorrow.Sorrow.Pain.Pain.
