Basedonthemethodsofenteringaforeignmarket,internationalbusinesscanbeclassifiedintothreebroadcategories:trade,intellectualpropertyrightsandinternationallicensingagreements,andforeigndirectinvestment.3Section1FormsofInternationalBusiness1.TradeTradeconsistsoftheimportandexportofgoodsandservices.
Exportingistheshipmentofgoodsortherenderingofservicestoaforeignbuyerlocatedinaforeigncountry.Everyexportentailsanimport,andviceversa.4Section1FormsofInternationalBusinessExportingisgenerallydividedintotwotypes.
Directexportingisoftendonethroughforeignagents
