The teaching plan I am going to talk about is the writing period of Unit2 How often do you exercise from Grade 8 in PEP Book.I. Teaching Material Analysis This is u
2、nit2 from Grade 8 in Go for it . The title is How often do you exercise. This lesson is a writing passage, which focused on the topic of “My Habits”, such a topic is related to our daily life, so it is easy to arouse the students learning interests. By the end of this lesson, students can learn how
3、to write their own habits. Understanding how to write such an article, they can master the usage of frequency adverbs.II. Teaching Objectives1. Language ObjectivesIn the writing, there are some important words, phrases and sentences that may be a little bit difficult. So I should teach students how
4、to use them. When students know the words and phrases, they can write the letter easily.2. Ability ObjectivesThis is a general writing class. As we all know, the main aim is to improve studentswriting ability. Students will be encouraged to use simple present tense. They can make use of the frequenc
5、y adverbs which theyve learned from last lesson: such as “always, often, sometimes, never ”and so on.3. Moral Objectives(1) Encourage students to learn the good habits; (2) Make students interested in writing.III. Important PointsThis is the writing part, so I put emphasis on training studentswritin
6、g ability. And thenget students to grasp the general idea of their writing. Also, making students interested in this writing is important.IV. Difficult PointsThis is a writing class so the difficult points are how to make use of frequency adverbs and sentence structures theyve learned to write an ar
7、ticle in the form of a letter and how to improve the students writing skills.V. Teaching Methods1. The main teaching methods include: communicative approach, situational teaching method, task-based teaching method, because these methods can make students more active during the class.2. Teaching Aids
8、: a blackboard, a computer and a projector and some cards. With these tools, the information prepared for students can be shown easily and clearly.VI. Learning MethodsStudents need to develop some writing strategies such as listing related words, phrases and making an outline and so on. In this clas
9、s, students are instructed to develop the above mentioned writing strategies to cultivate their over-all ability.VII. Teaching Procedures Step I Greetings Greet the whole class as usual. It aims to concentrate students attention.Step II Leading-in By showing Peiqi Pig and introducing her habits, stu
10、dentsinterest and attention are drawn to the topic. Then students are interested in writing this letter to Peiqi.Step III Pre-writing This step includes 2 activities. Group-work one, I will ask them to discuss with partners about words and phrases about what they usually do after class or school,suc
11、h as “eat apples, play basketball” and so on. After 2 minutes, I will ask some students to share their ideas.Group-work two, They will be encouraged to discuss again how often they do these things in group-work one. So they can try to use frequency adverbs to make sentences.Step IV While WritingBefo
12、re they write, I will make an outline for students and tell them three parts in their writing but there are already the beginning and the ending. So they will mainly focus on good and bad habits. I will ask them to write the topic sentence first, and then write at least 3 good habits and 3 bad habit
13、s. They should be encouraged to use some linking words before each habit and after writing good habits there should be conjunctions, which can make their writing fluent. During their writing, I will walk around them and help them with some vocabulary.Step V Post-writingAfter theyve done the writing,
14、 in each group, one letter will be shown on the piece of paper. I will let them show their writing in class and lead them to find others good sentences and learn from them. Also, they should learn to find mistakes and try to correct them. In this step their ability of comparison and evaluation is developed. And their interest of writing is aroused.Step VI Summary and Assignment At last, I will give them the homework and ask them to share
