1、Unit 11 How was your school trip? 说课稿Good morning/ afternoon, dear judges! Im very glad to be here to present my class today. Im number X candidate applying for the English teacher of the secondary school. And my topic today is the grammar focus of section A in Unit 11 How was your school trip? To m
2、ake my presentation much clearer, Ill divide it into 6 parts, that is, the analysis of teaching materials, analysis of students, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design. Now I am going to present them one by one.Part One: Analysis of Teaching MaterialThe first a
3、nd foremost is the analysis of the teaching materials. Todays lesson is the grammar part of section A in Unit 11 in book 2, published by Peoples Education Press. The learning content of this lesson is to comprehend the forms and functions of past events, such as wh- questions and yes-no questions, a
4、nd the past tense of regular and irregular verbs. The learning of the past tense can help students to describe things happened in the past, and they can read and write stories with the past tense, which is very useful for their daily life.With reference to the Curriculum Standard,I have set the foll
5、owing three objectives:Knowledge objectives:1. Ss can understand the wh- questions and yes-no question forms and functions of past tense. 2. Ss can remember the rules of the past tense of regular and irregular verbs.Ability objectives:1. Students can put the two kinds of question forms of past tense
6、 in to actual use and use the past tense of different verbs correctly in out daily life. 2. Through the pair work and group work of students, their comprehensive language abilities will be greatly improved.Emotional objective: Ss can appreciate the importance of being able to describe things happene
7、d in the past. They can realize the importance of time and develop the love for their hometown.Based on the teaching objectives mentioned above/ Given the teaching materials and the students characteristics, the teaching key points are that Ss can understand the wh- questions and yes-no question for
8、ms and functions of past tense and they can remember the rules of the past tense of regular and irregular verbs. While the teaching difficult point is that students can put the two kinds of question forms of past tense in to actual use and use the past tense of different verbs correctly in our daily
9、 life.Part Two: Analysis of studentsAnalysis of teaching material is rather important, so is it for analysis of students who are the main part of classes. Next, we will analyze the situation of students. Ss in grade 7 still maintain great interest in English learning. Though having had a basic knowl
10、edge of English, some of them may display fear for English and havent got rid of dumb English. Furthermore, not all of them can apply what they learn to realistic communication with others. Their knowledge of simple present tense and present progressive tense laid a foundation for them to understand
11、 the forms and usage of the past tense. Though the grammar knowledge seems very boring to them, teachers can arrange various activities to arouse their interest of learning English, which is a major aim for students of their age to learn English.Part Three: Teaching MethodsAs suitable teaching metho
12、ds are crucial to classes, I will specially employ the following three teaching methods: adopting the task-based language teaching method, communicative approach and situational approach. These different teaching methods can guarantee various activities to enliven our class so that students can part
13、icipate in the class actively. Therefore, they can learn by doing various interesting activities. In this class, students will be encouraged to do some tasks by working in groups, thus students language skills will be improved by completing the tasks and working together.Part Four: Learning MethodsA
14、s we all know, what teaching methods adopted in the class is very crucial. So is it for the learning methods. In this lesson, students will improve their language skills by individual work, group work and discussion. All these learning methods are good for students to practice, participate and explo
15、re in class, which are advocated in the English class for their effectiveness. Therefore, in this class, students will be arranged to do individual work and group work, thus their participation in class will be greatly strengthened. Part Five:Teaching proceduresOn the basis of the analyses of teachi
16、ng material and students, by employing the teaching methods and learning methods, the next part is my presentation of teaching procedures.Step 1: Lead-inI will create a situation that my foreigner friend Mary went to China two weeks ago. She went to many famous places of China during this time. She
17、wants to write to her best friend in the USA. She need our help. Five pictures about her trips will be presented. Students will be asked to make five sentences according to the five pictures. The purpose of creating a real situation is to attract students attention to the class, and presenting the p
18、ictures can help students to understand todays topic.Step 2: Presentation Firstly, according to the situation created in the lead-in part, students will be asked to write down five sentences to help Mary to tell her friend where she went.Then, after students try, I will write the five sentences on t
19、he blackboard. Thirdly, I will give explanation the function and usage of the past tense. Especially point out the past tense of regular verbs and irregular verbs. Creating a real situation can help students really understand the function of the simple past tense. Step 3: Practice In order to practi
20、ce what students have learnt, I will arrange three activities to practice. Activity 1: Students will be required to do exercises in the part 3a. Activity 2: Students will be divided into groups and each group will be given a picture. And each of them will be required to make a short story, each memb
21、er will make at least one sentence. The purpose of different activities can help students to improve their listening and speaking skills, and their cooperative ability can be enhanced.Step 4: Consolidation After the practice, students will be required to complete a task. A reporter for your hometown
22、. Creates a situation in which a program called “The Past and Present of My Hometown” is in need of a host; anyone who can quickly describe what the hometown was like will be the host; examples will be given, for instance: My hometown was very small. It had few people.The task-based language teachin
23、g method is adopted in this step. Through completing the task, students comprehensive ability of language learning will be improved.Step 5: SummaryIn this step, students will be asked to summarize the language points they have learnt in this class, and the teacher will make supplement and emphasizes
24、 the usages of the past tense. Finally, tell students the importance of time and to develop love for their hometowns. By summarizing the content of the class, students can get a main idea about the content of this class in the end, besides, the emotional objective will be achieved in this step.Step 6: HomeworkIn this step, I will ask students to making a timeline: Ss make a survey about their family members and find out what they were like every five years in the
