3、ur time for intensive reading, extensive reading, listening and speaking ?)A.In Class: Active in asking Qs & answering Qs ( a more “noisy class”) , active in pair work or group discussion.even in giving a presentation in front of your class. You should also be skillful in taking notes in English.And
4、 dont just make notes. Practise reading your notes.2).After class: Active in preparing yourselves for every class, (previewing, for example: for your text learning,) Active in review ( master all the important things you learned in class)Active in doing some extra reading ,listening and making dialo
5、gues with your classmates in English.3.Some tips for listening, speaking, reading and writing.1)Listening: Besides your text book, try to listen more. (radio,TV programs,English films).When watching films: First- with subtitles(字幕)Second-no subtitles, Third choose a favorite scene and imitate it.2).
6、Speaking(Besides your text book)Try to talk as much as possible in English from the very beginning .(In class no Chinese)Another good suggestion for practising speaking is to have an activity called (BUDDY time).Work with a friend one hour a week.Choose three topics you have recently studies.Write d
7、own four or five questionsDiscuss the questions3).Reading: Reading is one of the best ways to learn.Generally speaking,when reading, you may just understand the main idea. Look at pictures, titles, first sentence of each new paragraph. Two types of reading:1) Intensive reading : understand more in d
8、etail of the text(esp.the meaning of the text),try to learn some useful expressions, and keep in mind most of the useful words(try to memorize them under the context of the text.)2). Extensive reading: Concentrate your attention on the whole text.Dont stop to look up new words in dictionaries(try to
9、 guess the meaning of new words). Time your reading. Dont expect to understand every word.Try to understand words from context.Circle worlds you dont know.Are they important to the main context ?If not , cross them out.3) Extra reading: other information from other books in English may be useful. Ne
10、ws papers, magazines: , , , , , (For this kind of materials, you neednt read them everyday, just once a week or a month.Choose articles you like.Internet: google. com4. Writing:Taking notes in English, keep diary, write down what you heard,exchange your writing with your classmates, and try to under
11、stand corrections.4.About the text book:Each unit consists of six parts. Starting out; Reading focus; Reading more; practical translation; focused Writing and Finally final project .We will focus on the first two parts and last two parts will be used as additional materials for improving your Englis
12、h proficiency.For Reading more you should do all the reading and exercise by your self.To sum up: The most important thing for you here is to fine a good method for your study.Be honest, to act on your own initiative,(you should be willing to learn by yourselves), you are the own master in learning.
