They attracted the young so much that no one could take the place of them in the field of rock music. After they became famous, their manager arranged a great many perfo

2、rmances on different occasions for them, leaving out the possibility that they might break down. Unwilling to work like this, Peter, the leading singer of the band, tried to talk with the manager to have some of the unaccomplished performances cancelled. However, there was a divide/division between

3、them. It was a pity that Peter decided to break away from FORCE . To their credit, neither did the remaining members break up the band nor they stopped trying to persuade Peter to return when it was convenient for them to do so. At last Peter was moved. His return delighted all people knowing them,

14、ompleted in three days. 11. divide vt. 分,划分o. e.g.: The teacher divided our class into four groups. 区别:separate意为“分开”,侧重表示把原来在一起或靠近的事物分隔开来,分开后的部分具有相对的独立性.它常与介词from连用.divide 意为“分割;分开”,强调把一个整体按等量或一定比例分开.常与into连用. e.g.: separate the good apples from the bad ones divide an apple into two halve
