It represents the moral and social decay that results from the uninhibited pursuit of wealth, as the rich indulge themselves with regard for nothing but their own pleasure. The valley of ashes also symbolizes the plight of the poor, like George W

12、 Light As is known, Daisy is the embodiment of that green lightGatsbys dream. Green symbolize hope, light drives away darkness. Gatsby worships that light and his gesture shows he wants to touch the green light. That is, he tries his best to fill their impossible gulf between he and Daisy with mater

His count of enchanted objects had diminished by one.18 Green Light uGatsby and Daisy reunited. Compared to the great distance that has

Now the green light is just a light on a dock.uIn fact, what Gatsby worships is a moral vacuum. So when Daisy in person really stands in front of him, she loses the magic he imagines. The gre

The green light is part of

19、 the American dream. uGatsby, in a way, represented some people who sought after the “American Dream”, they courted fame, fortune and social status by hard work and endeavor. In order to win Daisy who was the “golden girl” in his dream, he made his fortune by participating in organized crime, includ

20、ing distributing illegal alcohol and trading in stolen securities.
