1、高二模块六第二单元Reading A few forms of English poems Introduction说课提要 Today I will share my idea about how to teach the reading passage A FEW FORMS OF ENGLISH POEMS taken from Unit2, Book 6, NSEFC. I am going to state my idea in 8 parts ,ie. by analyzing the
2、teaching material, the students base, the teaching objectives, the teaching important points, difficult points, my teaching method, my teaching procedure, my blackboard design, and some anticipated problemsPart 1 The analysis of the teaching material说教材 There are 5 units in
3、 Book 6, New Senior English for China. Each unit contains 8 sections that focus on a key topic and base the listening, speaking, reading , writing activities on the structures and functional items. The topic of this unit is poems. This lesson is to teach the reading passage A FEW FORMS OF ENGLI
4、SH POEMS taken from Unit2, Book 6, NSEFCThe passage is mainly about a few simple forms of English poems and it analyzes the characteristics of each kind of the poems while showing examples. The passage is a typical exposition, where the first paragraph leads the whole passage, stating the purpose of
5、 the poems, and in the following paragraphs are explored different kinds of poems.Part 2 The analysis of the students base说学情The students in senior grade 2 know a lot about the Chinese poems but they are not familiar with the English poems, even if they mostly enjoy English songs and can sing Englis
6、h songs. However, they will get interested in the English poems because reading the poems sounds amusing and fantasticDifferent study tasks are designed for students of different levels so as for them to learn and share the fun and attraction of English poems in the cooperative work.Part 3 The analy
7、sis of the teaching objectives说教学目标According to my analysis above and New Curriculum Standard, in this lesson ,I divide the goal into knowledge aims, ability aims, emotional aims:Knowledge aims: 1. learn some simple forms of English poemsAbility aims:1. explore the characteristics of each type of po
8、ems 2. interpret meaning in poetry3. identify forms of English poemsEmotional aims:1. get interested in English poems2. have a cooperative learning Part 4 The important and difficult teaching points说教学重点和难点Important points:1. characteristics of a few forms of English poems 2. words and expressions i
9、n the text: take it easy, run out of time, made up of, convey, salty, endless, transformed into, etc.3. reading skillsskimming and scanning 4. the ability of interpreting the meaning of some poems Difficult points:1. Explore the characteristics of each form of poems and identify some new poems.2. In
10、terpreting the meaning of some poems and the poetry language learning Part 5 The analysis of the teaching method说教法The task-based language teaching will be adopted. Students finish the tasks in the different cooperative interactions. They gradually learn new knowledge(the forms of English poems
11、 and the characteristics)and the new ability (to interpret and make English poems)。In the task to prepare for the lesson, students explore the basic elements of English poems(musical rhymes,strong rhythm,infectious repetitions,special way of presentation,vivid visual images,appealing sound effects,e
12、tc)During the first 5 minute in class, students will read RED APPLE and TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR in order to review the basic elements of English poems, which will lead to the topic: a few forms of English poems. By skimming(individually), the students get the hang of the passage and structure. B
13、y scanning, they find out the characteristics of the poems(in pairs). By reading it for a third time, they finish the exercises(seen below). In this group activity, each group is in charge of analyzing one poem. Students in each group have different role, for example, being a spokesperson,draw,look
14、up in the dictionary and take notes,recite the poems. After each group analyse one poem by memberscooperation, the spokesperson in each group will state the analysis of the poem. In this way can students know the characteristics,themes,meanigs of the 8 poems in the passage. Then they can recognize t
15、he type of the new poems and tell why. At last,I summarize what we learned. The assignment is to have students make a poem after class and read it for classmates the next day.Part 6 The teaching procedure说教学过程Step one, I will spend 2 minutes introducing what we will learn and dividing students into
16、8 groups. Each student chooses a number from one to five and gets their jobsStep two, it will take students 3 minutes to review the elements of poems by reading and singing the poem TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR and doing the multiple choice exercise(the answers include all: musical rhymes,strong rhyt
17、hm,infectious repetitions,special way of presentation,vivid visual images,appealing sound effects)Step three, it will take students 3 minutes to skim the passage individually for main idea of each paragraphStep four , students in pairs are required to spend 5 minutes scanning for characteristics of
18、each form of poemsStep five , students are asked to interpret the poems by doing the questions on the worksheet, during which students learn the language points in different ways. Different groups interpret different poems and each member in the group has a different job. No.2 draws his group poem a
19、nd the teacher delivers the handout to each group This step cost them 10 minutes.Step six, the spokesman of each group interprets their groups poem(s) to the class so that everyone in the class can learn the eight poems altogether. (8mins)Students learn the poems in groups guided by the questions on
20、 the worksheet and then the whole class discuss some difficult questions with the help of their teacher.Step seven, read and identify new poems (5mins)Step eight, summary (2mins). I summarize the forms of English poems learned in this lessonStep nine, Assign the homework-write an English poem in a simple form they learned in this lesson and it will be read in the next lessonPart 7 Blackboard Writing Design说板书设计The teaching assessment has to be concerned about the course as well as the result.
