10、,通常用i'm afraid,后接从句i'm afraid i have some rather bad news for you.恐怕我给你带来了坏消息。4. 情态动词 should 的用法 should 是情态动词,它的基本用法是必须和其他动词一起构成谓语。情态动词没有人称和数的变化,意为“应该”。should(应当,应该)用于所有人称,表示劝告或建议。 eg. you should wait a little more. 你应该再多等一会儿。 - i have a very bad cold. 我感冒很厉害。 - you should lie down and have

16、式疑问句使语气显得更委婉,更容易为对方所接受。通常也可以用why not do?来表达。why dont you go to bed earlier?=why not go to bed earlier?你为何不早点睡觉?二.连词until, so that和although1.until常见用法有以下两种情况:如果主句的谓语动词是持续性动词(如live, stay, work, read, study, write, watch, talk, run, walk, sing等)时,则一般用其肯定形式与until连用,表示这个动作或状态一直持续到until后所接的时间到来为止。如果主句的谓语动
17、词是终止性动词(如go, come, leave, begin, start, open, close, find, see等)时,则一般用其否定形式与until连用,表示这个动作或状态一直到until后所接的时间到来时才发生。i watched tv until she came back.我看电视一直看到她回来。you shouldnt eat anything until you see the doctor.看过医生后,你才能吃东西。2.so that“以便/为了”引导目的状语从句。please open the window so that we can breathe fresh
18、air.请把窗户打开以便我们能呼吸新鲜的空气。3.although=though意为“虽然;即使;纵然”,引导让步状语从句。【注意】although和but不可用于同一个句中。although he is very old, he is quite strong.他虽然年纪很大了,但还很强壮。三.should与could常用于征求意见,提建议的句子中。could意为“可以”,常表示提议、请求,比can更委婉客气。could you help me?你能帮我吗?should意为“应该”,表示劝告、建议,没有must语气强烈。what should i do?我怎么办?i think you sh

21、用否定式,其含义是“直到才”, “在以前不”, 谓语动词可用瞬间动词。例如: the young man read till the light went out.lets wait until the rain stops.we wont start until bob comedont get off until the bus stops.so that:引导目的状语从句 so that(为了,以便)例如:we started early so that we could catch the first train. he studies hard so that he could wo
