3、age called “the story of atlanta”. the text is about a fast-running girl called atlanta, who was a greek princess, made abargain with her father that only the man, who runs faster than her, could marry her. therefore a boy called hippomenes began the race. it asn interesting passage with an end to b

4、e finished.2) students analysis& teaching aimsas for students analysis, we all know that studengtsrehaatvienterests in olympic games and have laid a basic foundation in words and phrasesthrough former study. therefore, according to this point, i divide teaching aims into 3 parts.a) knowledge aim

5、the first part is knowledge aim. in this part, students are supposed to master the future passive voice.b) ability aimas to the second part- ability aim, students are encouraged to develop the ability to use 2 important reading skills-fast reading in getting the main idea and careful reading in find

6、ing out details.c) emotion aimlast but the most important part is the emotionaim. by learning thispassage, students canhave a better understanding of the olympic s spiritto live healthily and thus cultivate their interests in sports3) important& difficult pointsnext, i de ltiok present the impor

7、tant and difficult points in this text.the important points include knowing the structure of the future passive voice.compared with the important points,the difficult points are the ability to find out where the future passive voice are and to know how to write sentences by using future passive voic

8、e.4) teaching& learning approachaccording to the important and difficultpoints, i decide to choosetask-basedlanguage teaching approach and communicative approach as my teaching approachand group working and independent thinking as learning approach.as for the teaching approach, i think it import

9、ant for students todevelop the ability in working out the given tasks with the help of others. the reason of my learning approach is to encourage students to think up the answers independently and develop a sense of team work by listening and sharing.5) teaching procedurebasing on what i velisted ju

10、st now, i dlike to move to the most important part-the teaching procedure. this part consists of 5 steps: lead in, while-reading, summary, discussion and homework.1. lead in 5-7minsin this step, i will play a video about atlanta and then i will ask some volunteers to do the role- playing in front of

11、 the class and i will be the narrator.purpose of my design: it asn efficient way to arouse their interest inlearning the text as well as leading in the text.2. while-reading 18-20minsin this step, i will lead students to use 2 important reading skills: fast reading and careful reading.fast reading 3

12、-5minsfirst, i lgl ive them 2-3 minutes to find out the main idea of eachparagraph and the whole text, which will help them think independently.second, students are asked to do 3 single choice questions to check their understanding of the whole passage.third, i will check whether their answers are r

13、ight.by doing this, they can trained the skill of getting the main points within a small amount of time .careful reading 13-15minstask 1: before careful reading, i llexplain new words and diff icult sentences listed on the blackboard.purpose of my design: it asn efficient way for students to underst

14、and the text easily.task 2: i ll also list t/f questions on the blackboard and one question tothink about while reading“ what do you think the end will be.”students are supposed to read through the text and find out the answers within 5-6 minutes.after reading the passage carefully, i will guide the

15、 students to work ingroups of 4 and discuss their answers and opinions.and i willcheck their answers and play the rest of the video to the students to tell them the end.task 3: each student is given a chart about the text with blanks on it. iwill guide the students to listen to the tape and fill in

16、the blanks. after listening, students can check their answers by looking at the text.purpose of my design:in this way, they are trained the skill of findingout the information by reading the text in details.3. summary 5minsi lilnvite several students to look at their notes and make a brief summary a

17、bout the textand then i ll make a supplement.purpose of my designs: tudents can consolidate what they have learned.4. discussion 10-15minsi ll ask students to discu4ssquestions listed on the blackboard. each group is given 7-8 minutes to discuss and select one student to presenttheir ideas. the rest

18、 of the students will be the listeners. if anyone has a different opinion, he/ she can raise his/ her hand and speak it out.purpose of my design:by doing this task, they will benefit a lot in their spoken english. most students can take their parts in the activities, especially for those who have trouble in english study.5. homeworkin th
