14、r-conditioning and heat pump equipment21section 1. purpose1.1purpose. the purpose of this standard is to establish for commercial and industrial unitary air-conditioning and heat pump equipment: definitions; classifications; test requirements; rating requirements; minimum data requirements for publi

15、shed ratings; operating requirements; marking and nameplate data; and conformance conditions. 1.1.1intent. this standard is intended for the guidance of the industry, including manufacturers, engineers, installers, contractors and users.1.1.2review and amendment. this standard is subject to review a

16、nd amendment as technology advances.section 2. scope2.1scope. this standard applies to factory-made commercial and industrial unitary air-conditionersing and heat pumps equipment as defined in section energy source. this standard applies only to electrically operated, vapor compression refrig

17、eration systems.2.2exclusions. this standard does not apply to the following:2.2.1rrating and testing of individual assemblies, such as condensing units or coils, for separate use.2.2.2this standard does not apply tounitary air-conditioners as defined in ari standard 210/240, unitary air-conditionin

18、g and air-source heat pump equipment, with capacities less than 65,000 btu/h 19 000 w, or to unitary heat operated air-conditioning equipment, or water-source heat pumps as defined in iso 13256-1, water-source heat pumps testing and rating for performance part i: water-to-air and brine-to-air heat p

19、umps.2.2.23this standard does not apply to rrating ofg units equipped with desuperheater/water heating devices (as defined in ansi/ashrae standard 137) in operation.section 3. definitionsdefinitions. all terms in this document shall follow the standard industry definitions in the current edition of

20、ashrae terminology of heating, ventilation air-conditioning and refrigeration, unless otherwise defined in this section.3.1coefficient of performance. a ratio of the cooling/heating capacity in watts w to the power input values in watts w at any given set of rating conditions expressed in watts/watt

21、s w/w. for heating cop, supplementary resistance heat shall be excluded.3.1.1standard coefficient of performance. a ratio of the capacity to power input value obtained at standard rating conditions.3.2commercial and industrial unitary air-conditioner. one or more factory-made assemblies, which inclu

22、des a cooling coil, an air moving device, a compressor(s) and condenser combination, and may include a heating function as well. where such equipment is provided in more than one assembly, the separate assemblies shall be designed to be used together, and the requirements of rating outlined in this

23、standard shall be based upon the use of matched assemblies.3.2.1functions. the functions of commercial and industrial unitary air-conditioners, either alone or in combination with a heating plant, are to provide air-circulation, cooling, dehumidification, and may include the functions of heating, hu

24、midifying, outdoor air ventilation, and air cleaning.3.3commercial and industrial unitary heat pump. one or more factory-made assemblies, which normally include an indoor conditioning coil, an air moving device, compressor(s), and an outdoor coil(s), including means to provide a heating function and

25、 may or may not include a cooling function. when such equipment is provided in more than one assembly, the separate assemblies shall be designed to be used together, and the requirements of rating outlined in the standard shall be based upon the use of matched assemblies.3.3.1functions. commercial a

26、nd industrial unitary heat pumps shall provide the function of heating, air circulation and may include the function of air cooling, dehumidifying or humidifying, outdoor air ventilation, and air cleaning.3.4cooling capacity. the total capacity is the sum of the latent and sensible capacities expres

27、sed in btu/h wcapacity associated with the change in air enthalpy which includes both the latent and sensible capacities expressed btu/h w.3.4.1latent capacity. capacity associated witha change in humidity ratio.3.4.2sensible capacity. capacity associated with a change in dry-bulb temperature.3.5ene

28、rgy efficiency ratio (eer). a ratio of the cooling capacity in btu/h to the power input values in watts at any given set of rating conditions expressed in btu/w·h.3.5.1standard energy efficiency ratio. a ratio of the capacity to power input values obtained at standard rating conditions.3.6integ

29、rated part-load value (iplv). a single number cooling part-load efficiency figure of merit calculated per the method described in .7published rating. a statement of the assigned values of those performance characteristics, under stated rating conditions, by which a unit may be chosen to fit i

30、ts application. these values apply to all units of like nominal size and type (identification) produced by the same manufacturer. as used herein, t the term published rating includes the rating of all performance characteristics shown on the air-conditioner or heat pump or published in specification

31、s, advertising, or other literature controlled by the manufacturer, at stated rating conditions.3.7.1application rating. a rating based on tests performed at application rating conditions (other than standard rating conditions).3.7.2standard rating. a rating based on tests performed at standard rati

32、ng conditions.3.8rating conditions. any set of operating conditions under which a single level of performance results and which causes only that level of performance to occur.3.8.1standard rating conditions. rating conditions used as the basis of comparison for performance characteristics.3.9"s

33、hall" or "should". "shall" or "should" shall be interpreted as follows:3.9.1shall. where "shall" or "shall not" is used for a provision specified, that provision is mandatory if compliance with the standard is claimed.3.9.2should. “should” is us

34、ed to indicate provisions which are not mandatory but which are desirable as good practice.3.10standard air. air weighing 0.075 lb/ft3 1.2 kg/m3 which approximates dry air at 70ºf 21ºc and at a barometric pressure of 29.92 in hg 101.1 kpa.section 4. classifications4.1classification.commerc

35、ial and industrial unitary air-conditioningers and heat pumps equipment within the scope of this standard typically shall be classified as shown in tables 1 and 2.section 5. test requirements5.1all standard ratings shall be verified by tests conducted in accordance with ashrae standard 37 and with t

36、he test methods and procedures as described in this standard and its appendices.section 6. rating requirements6.1standard ratings. standard ratings shall be established at the standard rating conditions specified in table 3. standard ratings related to cooling or heating capacities shall be net valu

37、es, including the effects of circulating fan heat, but not including supplementary heat. standard ratings (cooling) shall be stated as total cooling capacity. standard ratings shall be based on the total power input to the compressor(s) and fan(s), plus controls and other items required as part of t

38、he system for normal standard rating operation.standard ratings of units which do not have indoor air-circulating fans furnished as part of the model, i.e., split systems with indoor coil alone, shall be established by subtracting 1250 btu/h per 1000 cfm 775 w/m3/s from the total cooling capacity, a

39、nd by adding the same amount to the heating capacity. total power input for both heating and cooling shall be increased by 365 w per 1000 cfm 226 w/m3/s of indoor air circulated.standard ratings of water-cooled units from 65,000 to below 135,000 btu/h 19,000 to 39,600 w shall include a total allowan

40、ce for cooling tower fan motor and circulating water pump motor power inputs to be added in the amount of 10.0 w per 1000 btu/h 34.1 w per 1000 w cooling capacity.6.1.1values of standard capacity ratings. these ratings shall be expressed in terms of btu/hw as shown.capacity ratings, btu/h wmultiples

42、whenever published, shall be expressed in multiples of the nearest 0.1 btu/w·h 0.03 w/w. coefficients of performance (cop) for heating or cooling, whenever published, shall be expressed in multiples of the nearest 0.0 standard rating tests. table 3 indicates the tests and test condition

43、s which are required to determine values of standard capacity ratings and values of energy efficiency. standard cooling ratings are not applicable for heating-only heat pumps.voltage and frequency. standard rating tests shall be performed at the nameplate rated voltage(s) and frequency.for ai

44、r-conditioners and heat pumps with dual nameplate voltage ratings, standard rating tests shall be performed at both voltages, or at the lower of the two voltages, if only a single standard rating is to be published.indoor-coil airflow rate. all standard ratings shall be determined at an indoo

45、r-coil airflow rate as outlined below. all airflow rates shall be expressed in terms of standard air.a. equipment with indoor fans intended for use with field installed duct systems shall be rated at the indoor-coil airflow rate (not to exceed 37.5 scfm per 1000 btu/h 0.06 m3/s per 1, 000 w of rated

46、 capacity) delivered when operating against the minimum external resistance specified in table 4 or at a lower indoor-coil airflow rate if so specified by the manufacturer.b.equipment with indoor fans not intended for use with field installed duct systems (free discharge) shall be rated at the indoo

47、r-side air quantity delivered when operating at 0 in h2o inches of water 0 pa external pressure as specified by the manufacturer.c.b.100% recirculated air shall be used except when the rating with outside air is claimed (). for units equipped for multi-zone or dual duct operation, the hot dec

48、k shall be closed off using dampers supplied with the unit.d.equipment which does not incorporate an indoor fan, but is rated in combination with a device employing a fan shall be rated as described under a. for equipment of this class which is rated for general use to be applied to a variety

49、 of heating units, the indoor-coil airflow rate shall be specified by the manufacturerthe lesser of: (1) the manufacturer specified in standard ratings, not to exceed 37.5 scfm/1,000 btu/h 0.06 m3/s per 1,000 w of rated capacity or (2) the airflow rate obtained through the indoor coil assembly when

50、the pressure drop across the indoor coil assembly and the recommended enclosures and attachment means is not greater than 0.30 in h2o 75 pa, whichever is less.e.c.indoor-coil airflow rates and pressures as referred to herein apply to the airflow rate experienced when the unit is cooling and dehumidi

51、fying under the conditions specified in this section. this airflow rate, except as noted in b and 8.3, shall be employed in all other tests prescribed herein without regard to resulting external static pressure. heating-only units shall use the airflow rate experienced when the unit is operat
