2、e study under the teachers instruction, but also an ability that makes learners take part in the management of their own study. however, based on the traditional teaching method, autonomic learning becomes difficult to be accepted. besides, most college learners are not good at managing their learni

3、ng, since college life supplies them with much freedom.as to the heated topic -autonomic learning, this article consists of three chapters. each part has its own unique purpose which can not be neglected. the first chapter is about the definition, characteristics and significance of autonomic learni

4、ng; the second chapter is the introduction of the current situation and the analysis of problem in college students autonomic learning; the third chapter is about the strategies to improve the learning abilities. key words: autonomic learning college students significant factors strategy chapter one

5、: the definition, function and significance of autonomic learning autonomic learning differs from the traditional learning that we have been taught from primary school to high school. before entering university, most students have been always studying under the direction of teachers. without the req

6、uirements and responsibility of the teachers, they would not make progress in their study. besides, it is not only different from selective studying, independent learning or self studying, but also takes obvious advantages over them. what it emphasizes more is the subjective initiation of students,

7、and the ability of managing their own learning. however, it is not completely depended on ones own. when studying, they can choose freely according to personal interests and preferences, but they should also need the help of teachers who play a very necessary and important role during learning, even

8、 their life.i. the concept of autonomic learning autonomic learning is a contemporary learning method, compared with traditional learning method that students are in passive position to accept what the teacher said. students play the center role in autonomic learning, which requires more for them. a

9、utonomic learning is that students consciously study under the instructions of teachers who give proper assistance to exert the students potential or ability of learning. in addition, students should relay on themselves to analysis, explore, practice, and query their study, which contributes to real

10、izing their learning aims. as for college students, it is more imperative to handle the ability of autonomic learning. first, they have more freedom which is consistent with the independence of autonomic learning; second, they have choice to choose what they are fascinated with; whats more, the coll

11、ege learning demands that students take more responsibilities.ii. the characteristics of autonomic learning according to the concept, it is obvious that autonomic learning has its unique features, making it rather outstanding in the relationship between learning and teaching. it contains subjectivit

12、y, independence and advancement, apart from that it also includes openness, cooperation and creativity which solidify its foundation. first, the subjectivity emphasizes students play the decisive role in learning. especially, college students should make full use of the subjective initiation to form

13、 the habit of autonomic learning. compared with the traditional teaching, it calls on students to study consciously, instead of passively accepting knowledge that the teachers have taught. so it is drawn on them that they need to be more positive, active and adventurous. second, the independence mea

14、ns that college students own more time and space-freedom to do what they want. they can choose the learning methods based on their own studying characteristic, and independently solve problems during the process of learning. however, it does not mean teachers are useless or meaningless in the proces

15、s of autonomic learning. the character of teachers has been changed, in other words, they are no longer play the main role as usually, just acting as auxiliary part. but the impact of teachers is still great. third, the advancement means colleges students actively participate in teaching and seek ne

16、w ways that are appropriate for their study at present, even in the future. fourth, the openness means autonomic learning is not limited by the time, place, teaching material and other conditions. on one hand, college students can autonomously choose the contents and ways to study. on the other hand

17、, they can make plans for themselves, and evaluate results of their study. fifth, the cooperation is another character of autonomic learning. although possessing the feature of independence, it is not a closed study. college students can select learning partners who possess the same interests and co

18、nditions of knowledge. during the process, they can communicate with each other, learn from each other and help each other. last, it demands college students creatively study and deal with problems during learning. creativity is rather important in learning.iii. the significance of autonomic learnin

19、gif college students had realized the importance of autonomic learning, they would not be so confused everyday. before entering university, they speared no efforts to get through the college entrance exam under the stress from their family, school, and even their own. during that period, they might

20、be forced to study without any willing. however, when they come to study at college where there is no requirements and big pressure, they gradually turn out to be exactly perplexed. according to this, it urges to be aware of the significance of autonomic learning. it improves the quality of college

21、students, cultivates their creativity and promotes the development of personality. besides, it can not only inspire college students to make the best of their initiative, but also enhance the classroom efficiency. autonomic learning provides college students with opportunities to constantly perfect

22、themselves. it requires college students to bravely face and settle challenges and difficulties in the learning process; it can adequately mobilize their initiative which includes adaptability, selection, cooperation and participation; it can also effectively develop the considerable proficiency. be

23、sides, it is beneficial for the development of self independence: first, it requests college students to learn self-care skills that they can reasonably manage their learning time and make studying plans; second, they can gain confidence and self-improvement, since they do what they have planned, wh

24、at they choose and what they want to challenge. as to the development of creativity, it can train the innovate consciousness, creative thinking and innovate ability. chapter two: the current situations of college students autonomic learning and the analysis of the effective reasons. i. the current s

25、ituations of college students autonomic learning according to the survey, it is distinct that most college students never form the habit of autonomic learning. they feel very vast and hazy, wandering day and night. they study and live with no aims, just watching movies, listening music and sleeping.

26、 sometimes, they really know what they are doing is wrong. some never want to change the terrible situation. although others decide to alter the awful condition, they seem to be stranded or even despaired in that they dont acknowledge how to change. first, they are lack of learning initiative that i

27、s rather significant in college. 9.8undergraduates are active to seek and complete the learning tasks; 70.6of them complete the tasks under the requirement or guide of teachers; the rest students are completely passive in learning; second, they are lack of learning motility which needs self-plan, se

28、lf-management and self-control. according to the data from the questionnaire(question 9), 2.3college students often make plan for everyday study, follow the studying schedule, and properly manage their time. though 74.4 students often make plan for study, they sometime obey the schedule. others hard

29、ly make plans for studying, instead, just following the schedule that college have designed. all suggests that college student scarcely have explicit direction of self-development. third, they are used to depending on the instruction of teachers, or others. however, college study is not as the same

30、as the study of primary and high school where teachers own absolute power in teaching and students just obey the requirements and rules. college is a new stage for them to obtain knowledge, progress abilities and improve personality. meanwhile, it claims that they should be more independent and acti

31、ve. through the data of the questionnaire, it is obvious that the majority of undergraduates can not learn utterly on their own. they seldom or even never complete their homework alone, and only plagiarize. ii. the analysis of the reasons why undergraduates are lack of autonomic learning1. the tramm

32、el of the traditional teaching methods before studying in university, they have received the cramming method of teaching which bounds their comprehensive development. it is unnecessary and difficult for them to search for the theories. since they just passively accept what the teachers have taught w

33、ithout any question, and never actively pursue knowledge. apart from this, they become deficient of curiosity in study, so there is no opportunity for them to show their creativity. when coming into university, they gradually get confused and hopeless, for they can hardly adjust to the college study

34、ing that teachers are not as responsible as the fellow ones, and they need to take more responsibilities in learning. they should recognize the change of their role in the process of study. however, it is rather difficult for them to correctly face and handle the main role in college learning; it is

35、 unlikely for them to immediately desert the traditional teaching method-cramming method of teaching; it is much harder for them to learn by themselves. in a ward, they cant escape the influence of cramming method of teaching.2. the psychological and emotional factors judging from the theory of freu

36、d who was austrian neurologist, psychiatrist and the founder of the psychoanalysis, he placed emotion into the framework of unconsciousness and drive. he also connected emotion with the process of motivation, regarding drive as the motive power. it is known that everyone is affected by their psychol

37、ogical emotion when making decision, facing troubles, and even dealing with trifles. just as freud said, motivation is related to emotion. as undergraduates, they should adjust their emotions to sufficiently arouse learning motivation. positive emotion makes a great effect on studying. nevertheless,

38、 they are at a loss and in anxiety in campus where there are many excellent students coming from different area. they may be frustrated if not catching up with others in study or not passing exams, and then they lose their confidence little by little. the deficient emotion lasts much longer and impa

39、cts their daily life. self-efficacy is significant to enhance ones confidence. it means they should learn from lecture and experience, and keep a good mood. the learning initiative is also relate to psychological emotions. some cant contribute themselves to study, not for their laziness, but for the

40、ir fears of failure. based on this emotion, they scarcely make the most of the initiative. 3. the factors from school and home school is another home to learners, providing learning environment, teaching material and teaching attachments. in other wards, the conditions of school will influent the im

41、plementation of autonomic learning. if the school is armed with simple learning facilities, it will still seriously restrict autonomic learning.home is the first teaching place where they start to learn. what they have been taught and accepted from home has a big effect on their development. having

42、received better education from home do good to their further study. the conditions of family will also make a difference, urging them to study hard to turn it betters. at the same time, pressures coming from family cause two opposite consequence. on one hand, it urges them to work hard and makes the

43、m acknowledge own responsibilities. on the other hand, it may leave them loss breath under such pressures. school together with home is significant in the growth of learners.chapter three: the strategies to improve autonomic learning based on the concept, characteristics, significance and the curren

44、t situations of the undergraduates autonomic learning, college students should imminently take actions to improve it. although the roles of teachers and undergraduates have been changed in college teaching, both parts are irreplaceable. the way to ameliorate autonomic learning is decided by the coop

45、eration of the students and teachers. learners should be strict with themselves, aspiring to comprehensive progress through autonomic learning. teachers should be in charge of the conduction in teaching. it ought to be practiced from three aspects: stimulating the learners initiative, enhancing the

46、teachers guidance and strengthening the management system.1. it is urgent to appeal undergraduates to realize the importance of autonomic learning. telling them the principle and how to form the habit of autonomic learning is importunate. they should acknowledge the three phases to make it come true

47、: the phase of self-design, the phase of self-improvement and the phase of self-actualization. the self-design phase contains self-recognition and self-selection: the fellow one means they should clearly recognize their separate strong points and weakness, consciously understanding the abilities and

48、 skills they have handled and what are in need for their development; the latter claims theyre free to choose the content which they acquire a taste for and the methods which they are expert in. the second phase contains self-cultivation and self-control, which requires them to get charge of emotion

49、s. the last phase is distinguished and proofread by self-assessment which is a valid way to record ones progress, requiring learners to make self-evaluation constantly, which is rather useful and meaningful. in addition, they should also bring out the initiative and potentials. 2. though college teaching differs from the traditional teaching, teachers still participate actively in college teaching and their position can not be replaced or neglected. to achieve the purposes of autonomic
