1、Unit 2 Healthy eatingP eriod 4 Using language: Listening and sp eaking整体设计教材分析This is the fourth teach ing p eriod of this un it. As usual, the teacher will first get stude nts to review what they lear ned in the last p eriod, and the n lead in the new less on.We will mainly deal with liste ning and

2、 sp eak ing in this p eriod. At the beg inning, stude nts listen to a dialogue between Wang Peng and an expert. Make sure students go through the exercises before they liste n to the tape. This is to shar pen their atte nti on and liste n for the an swers. This will also help them get the gist of th

3、e listening text. The teaching procedures may be as follows: First, let stude nts go through the exercises and guess the liste ning text may be about. Play the tape for stude nts to liste n to and decide whether their guess ing is right. Second, ask them to listen again for them to - do Exercise 3.

4、Third, let them listen a third time to check their answers. While they are liste ning, the teacher should p ause and rep eat the key sentences to help stude nts understand. After listening, let them work in pairs and finish Exercise 4. When checking the an swers, explain some difficult liste ning po

5、ints if n ecessary .In the end, show them the liste ning text and let them read and retell it. This ste p can help stude nts un dersta nd and gras p the liste ning material far further. P erha ps some stude nts will find it hard to liste n to and un dersta nd liste ning materials. En courage them no

6、t to give up. The more they liste n to En glish, the easier it becomes.As we know, young people can show that they are not eat ing a bala need diet in a nu mber of waysby being too thin, too fat or sick. So the exercise Talking is to encourage students to discuss how their diets may affect their qua

7、lity of life. It gives them the opportun ity to practice a dialogue using the fun cti onal items for see ing the doctor, suggesti ons and advice. So they should learn some exp ressi ons of see ing the doctor, suggestio ns and advice first. Then they are required to create such a dialogue. During the

8、 course, en courage them to use vocabulary from the readi ng and liste ning p assages.This period places emphasis on developing students listening and speaking ability. We should try our best to encourage students to say something. Don t aiwayheorrect the mistahave made while they are speaking. Othe
