(The Second Period) 一 Text Analysis:Part 2a2d and Grammar Focus of Section A will be covered in the second period.In the first period,the students have learnt the twelve months of the year and the simpie dialogues about asking and answering the birthday

2、dates.In this period,the students will learn the ordinal numbers from 1st to 31st by looking at a big wall calendar and listening to the conversation of 2b.The key function is to talk about peoples birthdays.The activities in this period oral,listening practice of the target language.二Teaching Goals

3、: 1.The students will be able to talk about the dates,such as February 28th,September 2nd and so on. 2.The students will be able to talk about their own birthdays and their classmates and parents,They will be able to use the useful structures,such as “When is yours bithday? My birthday is Novermber

4、11th. When is Liu Pings birthday? Her birthday is March 3rd. When is your fathers bithday? His bithday is December 5th.” 3.The students will be able to remember some special dates,such as,March 8th ,Theachers Day,Childrens Day is June 1st.三Teaching ProceduresStep 1:Review and check. ( 3 minutes ) 1)

5、Help the students revise the twelve months of the year by asking: T:How many months do we have in a year? Ss:We have twelve months in a year. T:What are they? Ss: They are January,February,March,December.(class work)2)Ask some students to spell the twelvewords by choosing one of these cards on which

6、 the twelve months have been written in Chinese.(Individual work)【设计说明】通过师生回答,很快把学生引入本课的学习上。在通过抽卡片拼写单词的游戏,让学生数量巩固所学十二个月的读写,为本节讲学的对话打好基础。Step 2:Lead-in and presentation.( 15 minutes ) 1)In Unit 7 ,the students have learnt the cardinal numbers.So ask them to count from one to thirty-one as a warming-u

7、p. 2)The teacher takes out a wall calendar and says,“There are thirty-one days in a month.Sometimes there are thirty days.February has only 28 or 29 days.”The teacher points at the calendar about January and says,“This is the first day in January.This is the second/third/fourth/ day in January.” 3)H

8、elp the students to say the ordinal numbers.And also help them find out the spelling regularity. 4)Theteacher writes them on the blackboard.Ask the students to pay more attention to these words:first,second,third,fifth,eighth,ninth,twelfth,twentieth and thirty-first.Then teach:twentieth/thirtieth/fo

9、rtieth/ninetieth. 5)Sum up and remember the spelling regularities:基变序很容易,第一二三无规律,firstsecondthird要紧记,其他词尾加th,但第八少个t,第九减去e,第五第十二同ve,ve要用f替,从第二十到九十,改y为i,再加eth别忘记,第几十几的只把个位基变序。【设计说明】通过看挂历上每月的日期由复习基数词自然过渡到学习序数词,学生头脑中有一个很强烈的对比。再由老师引导观察板书在黑板上的序数词,帮助学生归纳总结序数词拼写规律。这样能迅速激发学生学习兴趣,使他们省时高效记住这些序数词。Step3:Listen a

10、nd talk.( 5 minutes )1)Listen and repeat. Ask the students to listen to the recording and repeat each ordinal number in 2a,Section A.Help them correct their pronunciation.2)Listen and talk. Play the recording several times.Ask the students if there are any numbers that they find difficult to pronoun

11、ce and work on theae separately.3)Talk. Ask the students to answer these questions.Then ask them to ask each other these queations in Pairs.a) What is the first/second/third/twelfth month of the year?b) What is the month before/after December/January?【设计说明】通过听录音重复这些序数词,学生能标准地读出来,让别人听得懂。然后又通过回答那两个问题,

14、eir favorite months and why like this: T:I like February best.Because my birthday is in February.Which month do you like best?Why do you like it best?2)Talk about their bithdays by asking the following questions. When is your birthday?When is Liu Pings birthday?When is his/her birthday?3)Listen and

15、circle.(Individual Work)Ask the students to listen to a conversation in 2b,Section A.The conversation takes place between a teacher and four students.The teacher is asking the students when their birthdays are.Liisten and circle the numbers in 2a.4)Listen and match.( Individual Work)Ask the students

16、 to listen to the conversation again and match persons names with the months and date of his/her birthday in 2c,SectionA.5)Listen and repeat.( Class Work)Play the recording again.Ask the students to listen to the dialogue and repeat after it.【设计说明】本环节的听力训练旨在训练学生把握对话大意,善于捕捉关键词,如某人某月某日生日。在活动5的听读训练中,学生

17、通过跟读来模仿句子的重读弱读失去爆破等现象,既掌握一些朗读技巧提高听力水平,还促进对语言的整体感悟能力,达到了听读的有机结合。Step6:Oral practice.( 5 minutes ) 1)Ask your partner about these birthdays in 2d in pairwork.2)Make conversations.Have the students work with partners to make their own conversations by asking and answering when their family members birt

18、hdays are.3)Ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class.【设计说明】本环节的口语训练遵循了循序渐进的过程。从机械训练到半机械训练再到真实的情境中交际了。Step7:Give a report.( 6 minutes )1) Read the Grammar Focus.(Class together)2) Groups work.Divide the class into eight groups.Ask the students to do a survey about their good friends in my class-Kate,Jim,and Mike.Kates birthday is April 17th.Jims/Mikes birthday ia Noverber 29th/May 5th.3)Ask some students to report at least 3 friends birthdays to the class.【设计说明】:通过调查了解朋友的生日,既复习巩固了本节的教学任务对月份日期(序数词)的听说训练,同时又兼顾了写的训练
