The content of the less on is Senior En glish for China Student Book2 Unit 2: The Olympic Games. I talk about the lesson from the following six parts: the teach
2、ing material,the students, the teaching methods, the study ing methods, the teach ing procedure and blackboard desig n.Firstly, let me introduce the teaching material. This less on is about theOlympic Games, which is a popular topic, for 2012 London Olympic Games is on the way. It plays a very impor
3、ta nt part in the En glish teachi ng of this un it. By study ing about this topic, students can leann more about the Olympic Games, and improve their reading ability. At the same time, students interests will be motivated and some read ing skills can be cultivated.Secondly, I want to tell something
4、about the studentsAlthough the stude nts have the basic abilities of liste ning, speak in g, read ing, and writ ing, they still n eed many opportunities to practice what they have learned, to express their ideas, feelings, and experience and to develop their autonomous learning ability and cooperati
5、ve learning ability.Thirdly, I d like to talk about teaching aims and demands1 Kno wledge aims:(1) to help students to understand and master the words, phrases and sentencepatter ns.(2) to know some basic information about the Olympic Games.2 Ability aims:(1) To improve the stude ntsorga nizing and

After this, the stude nts will be eager to know something about the Olympic Games. and this is the very time to naturally
13、lead the class into Step 2Step 2 Read ing for in formatio n: skim ming and sca nningIn this step, I use Task-based Lan guage Teach ing method, which can give stude nts a clear and specific purpose while skim ming and sca nning the con text.Task 1 Gen eral ideaThe students will be asked to just glanc
14、e at the title and the pictures of the passage, and then guess what they will read in the text. And they ll be divided intogroups of four to have a discussi on.The purpose is to in spire the stude nts to read actively, not passively .In additi on, the task is to develop the stude nts readi ng skill
15、by making predict ion and toen courage the stude nts to express their thoughts in En glish and cooperate with each other.Task 2 Main idea of each paragraphCooperative lear ning can raise the stude nts in terest and create an atmosphere ofachievement. Based on this theory, I will divide the whole cla
16、ss into some groups to skim the whole text act the in terview out.Step 3 Readi ng for comprehe nsionThe purpose of read ing is to get the correct and useful in formati on. Stude nts should not only have a high speed of readi ng but also have a correct un dersta nding of details.Step 4 Solving diffic
17、ult Ian guage problems through read ingIt mportant for Ianguage learners to learn important rules of grammar and use these rules to solve problems in reality. In the previous process of reading, the students must come across some difficult Ianguage obstacles, so it s necessary forto discuss and expl
18、a in. This period of time bel ongs to stude nts. They can ask any questions they come across in the process of learning. I ll explain the questions anddifficulties. The purpose of this is impro ving the stude nts“questi oning spiritdealing with the difficulties.Step 5 Con solidatio nLan guage is lea
19、r nt by com muni cat in g. It is my job to create an atmosphere for stude nts to use the Ian guage. Here I desig n 2 activities1 Readi ng for comprehe nsion1 ll ask stude nts to in terview each other just like the Greek writer and Li Yan do ,and then do the exercise following the text.
