Ask Ss to do fast-reading to get general idea of the play.2. Ask them to do careful-reading to understand deta
3、iled information.3. Pair or group work to participate in class. Teaching procedures: Step 1: Lead-in Teacher may use the following questions to activate students interest in the problems between parents and teenagers. Questions: Do you love your parents? Do you like to stay with your parents at home
4、? Do you sometimes quarrel with your parents? Why do you quarrel with them? Students: I love my parents, but sometimes I dont want to stay with them because they dont understand me. They force me to do things I dont like or Im not interested in. So if we stay with them, we sometimes have a quarrel w
5、ith them Teacher: So it seems there are many different problems between two generations. Maybe most of you have some trouble in communicating with your parents. Could you tell me what kind of problem you have with your parents? Encourage the ss to talk freely by using the following useful words or p
6、hrases.Misunderstand/ distrust /interference/ force/ you to do something T: Its true that some teenagers and their parents cant understand each other sometimes. Many teenagers experience growing pains when growing up and cant find a way to solve it.Step 2: Presentation-Picture talking and describing
7、Guide the ss to read the instruction and the pictures on the book. Ask the Ss whether they are familiar with the situation in the pictures and make them describe the pictures with their own words. Teacher can give example first. Encourage ss to use their imagination and any descriptions are acceptab
8、le. Step 3: Pre-reading1. Play the tape of the play and ask the Ss to listen to it then try to find the answer of the following questions.1)Who are the main characters in the play?2)Why do the parents get angry?3)What really happened to their dog, spot? 4)Whats the main idea of this play? 2. Introdu
9、ce some important and difficult words and phrases. Step4: While-reading1.Group workRead the play a second time in a group of 4 and try to act it out. Pay attention to the voices, gestures, expressions, attitudes of the four characters2. Practice: Read the sentences below and decide which ones are T
