Analysis of the teaching materialsTeaching materials: The topic of this unit is reporting what someone said. The useful e

2、xpressions are: nervous, semester, worst, true, disappointing My history teacher said I could do better. My math teacher said I was hard-working. My Spanish teacher said that my listening was good. Status and function:This period is the 4th period of this unit. 3a is a letter about a students report

3、 card. It reflects the usage of Reported Speech and simple past tense. Its the most important and difficult part of this unit. So it is the key to the whole unit.2. Analysis of teaching goalsTeaching goals:Enable the students to read and use the key expressions to report whatsomeone said and write a

4、 letter about his or her own report card.Emotion goals: Lead the students to realize if they want to get good grades,they shouldwork hard.Teaching important and difficult points: To discuss the teachersreport cards.3. Analysis of teaching methodsAnalysis of the students: Most of the students think d

5、oing exercises are more important than speaking and listening. And they also have a lot of difficulties in reading. So combining these four kinds of skills together in one period is very important and useful to improve students abilities. Because most students are the only child in their families, t

6、hey cant realize the importance of the cooperation.Teaching methods: On the base of the students, I need to create some situations during the activities for the students to imitate and imagine. So that they can understand and remember the teaching materials deeply and naturally.So Community language

7、 teaching and Task-based language teaching are used in this period.In order to make each student take part in all the activities, I can arrange the pairwork and teamwork for the students. So all of the students have the opportunities to read, speak and write and they will not feel that they are igno

8、red by the teacher. So Cooperative learning is very important in my class. Teaching aid: PPTPPT is useful to create a lively and relaxing atmosphere for the students.4. Teaching proceduresIn order to complete those teaching goals, I designed these kinds of procedures:Step1: Lead-inI knew that the st

9、udents had taken the exams last week, so I got their exam results from their headmaster.Before the class, I gave an envelope to each student. And there was a report card in each envelope. The report cards were helpful for me to make a connection with the letter in 3a. In order to arouse students int

10、erests, I gave a part of cartoon for the students to enjoy at first. Then I asked the students to open the envelope and have a look at the report cards. Because I thought the students would be eager to know their exam results. They would have great interests in my class at the beginning.Step2: Prese

11、ntationI asked several questions about the report cards and the exam results. While we were talking about these, I presented the new words. For example:Do you get nervous?Its true that you are lovely students.I think the students will learn the new words in a lively situation in this way. And I beli

12、eve its very helpful for the students to learn the new words in a context.Step3: ReadingBased on Task-based language teaching, I gave 3 kinds of jobs to the students every time they read the letter.The first thing was listening to the tape to get the general idea of the letter and doing some Yes or

13、No questions. I prepared some simple questions for the students. I thought they would find the answers quickly and get the main idea easily.The next was reading the letter loudly for the second time. After that the students were asked to find the answers to some what and how questions. These are som

14、e detailed information and maybe it would be a little hard for the students, so they could discuss with their partners, which reflected Cooperative learning.The last one was circling some useful expressions while the students were reading. I thought that would be helpful for the students to read the

15、 letter with clear aims. And that also helped them write in native ways. Based on Community language teaching and Cooperative learning, I arranged an activity there,that is Role Play. One student acted as grandma and the other acted as Alan. They talked about Alans report card. In my opinion, after

16、reading a good article, we should learn to speak or write in the same way as the native expressions. And it is easy for the students to write later. Because the students have read the letter for 3 times and they have found some useful expressions, I think it is easy for them to complete this job. St

17、ep4: WritingReading 3a is the base of writing. So after reading and speaking, it was time for writing.I divided the students into 10 groups and 4 students acted as a group. And I gave each student a role. For example, 3 students talked about their own report cards. While they were talking, the left

18、student wrote down what they said and wrote an article about their report cards. In the unit, the key point is to report what someone said. I think this was a good chance for the students to realize this point. And each student had his or her job to do so they could take part in the activity naturally. I think it was a good reflection of Task-based language teaching, Cooperative learning and Community language teaching. The students w
