四川广汉市2017高考英语阅读理解一轮练习【2016高考英语阅读理解训练】阅读下面短文,选择最佳答案。Teachers say the digital age has had a good influence- and a not-so-good influence-on this generation of American teenagers. More than 2000 teachers took an online survey. Three-quarters of the teachers said the Internet and digital search tools have had a “ mostly positive” effect on their students research habits and skills. But 64 percent said the technologies “ do more to distract (使分心) students than to help them academically.” And 87 percent agreed that these technologies are creating an “ easily distracted generation with short attention spans.” The Pew Internet Project did the survey with the National Writing Project. Judy Buchanan is the vice director of the National Writing Project and a co-author of the report. Ms. Buchanan says digital research tools are helping students learn more and faster. “ Teachers really favor these tools because they are ways to make some of the learning exciting and engaging. Young people favor these tools. The goal is to really help them become creators of meaningful content, and not just sort of consumers.” But one problem the survey found is that many students lack digital literacy. They trust too much of the information they find on the Internet. Judy says these students havent developed the skills to determine the quality of online information. “ Its something that really has to be taught and paid attention to, because in a world in which things happen quickly, you do need to step back, reflect and analyze the information you have.” Another problem is blamed on something that might not seem like a problem at all: being able to quickly find information online. Teachers say the result is a reduction in the desire and ability of their students to work hard to find answers. They say students are overly dependent on search engines and do not make enough use of printed books or research libraries. Many teachers are also concerned that the Internet makes it easy for students to copy work done by others instead of using their own abilities.1. The text mainly tells us _. After breakfast we had arranged, as a surprise, to hire a car and take her for a beautiful drive in the country. Mother was rarely able to have a treat like that, because she was busy in the house nearly all the time. But on the very morning of the day, we changed the plan a little, because it occurred to Father that it would be even better to take Mother fishing. As the car was hired and paid for, we might as well use it to drive up into the hills where the streams are. As Father said, if you just go driving without object, you have a sense of aimlessness, but if you are going to fish there is a definite purpose that heightens the enjoyment. So we all felt it would be nicer for Mother to have a definite purpose . Father had just got a fishing rod the day before, which he said mother could use if she wanted to. Only Mother said she would much rather watch him fish than try to fish herself. So we got her to make up a sandwich lunch in case we got hungry, though we were to come home again to a big festive dinner. Well, when the car came to the door, it turned out that there was not as much space in it as we had supposed. It was plain that we couldnt all get in. Father said that he could just stay home and put in the time working in the garden. He said that there was a lot of rough dirty work that he could do, like digging a trench for the garbage, which would save hiring a man, and so he said that hed stay home; he said that we were not to let the fact that he had not had a real holiday for three years stand in our way. He wanted us to go right ahead and not to mind him. But of course we all felt that it would never do to let Father stay home, especially as we knew he would make trouble if he did. The two girls, Anne and Mary, would have stayed and helped the maid get dinner, only it seemed such a pity, for the two girls were eager to show their new hats on a lovely day like this. But they said that Mother had only to say the word and theyd gladly stay home and work. Will and I would have dropped out, but unfortunately we wouldnt have been any use in preparing the dinner.【小题1】 The authors family decided to celebrate Mothers Day specially to _.A. show love for their mother B. show gratitude to their mother C. show respect for their mother D. to make up for a previous appointment【小题2】According to Paragraph 2, we know that the plan was changed because_.A. The average womens brain weighs 10% less than mens. Since research has shown that the bigger the brain, the cleverer the animal, men must be more intelligent(聪明的) than women. Right? Wrong. Men and women always score similarly on intelligence tests, despite the difference in brain size. Why? After years of study, researchers have concluded that its whats inside that matters, not just the size of the brain. The brain consists of “grey matter” and“white matter”.While men have more of the latter ,the amount of “thinking” brain is almost exactly the same in both sexs.It has been suggested that smaller brain appears to work faster, perhaps because the two sides of the brain are better connected in women. This means that little girls tend to learn to speak earlier, and that women can understand sorts of information from different sources at the same time. When it comes to talking to the boss on the phone, cooking dinner and keeping an eye on the baby all at the same time, its women who come out on top every time. There are other important differences between two sexes. As white matter is the key to spatial(空间的) tasks, men know better where things are in relation to other things. “A great footballer always knows where he is in relation to the other players, and he knows where to go,” says one researcher. That may explain one of lifes great mysteries:Why men refuse to ask for directions and women often need to! The differences begin when fetuses(胎儿) are about nine weeks old, which can be seen in the action of children as young as one. A boy would try to climb a barrier (障碍物) before him or push it down while a girl would attract help from others. These brain differences also explain the fact that more men take up jobs that require good spatial skills, while more women speech skills. It may all go back to our ancestors(祖先) ,among whom women needed speech skills to take care of their babies and men needed spatial skills to hunt, according to one research. If all this disappoints you, it shouldnt. “The brain changes throughout our lives according to what we do with it,” says a biologist.72. Which of the following is TRUE according to the first paragraph? A. Womens brain is 10% less than mens. B. Grey matter plays the same role as white matter. C. Grey matter controls thinking in the brain. D. Both sexes have the same amount of white matter.73. What can we infer from the second and third paragraphs? A. Men do better dealing with one job at a time. B. Women prefer doing many things at a time. C. Women do not need to tell directions. D. Men have weaker spatial abilities.74. Which of the following do you agree with according to the fourth paragraph? A. Young boys may be stronger than young girls. B. More women take up jobs requiring speech skills. C. Women may have stronger feelings than men. D. Our ancestors needed more spatial skills.75. What is the writers attitude in writing this passage?A. Defensive. B. Persuasive. C. Supportive. D. Objective【参考答案】7275、CABD 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A.B.C和D项中,选出最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。【广东省东莞市2014模拟试题】ARecently, professor of philosophy(哲学)in the United States has written a book called Money and the Meaning of Life. He has discovered that how we deal with money in our daily life has more meaning than we usually think. One of the exercises he asked his students to do is to keep a record of every penny they spend for a week. From the way they spend their money, they can see what they really value in life.He says our relations with others often become clearly defined(清晰的)when money enters the picture. You might have wonderful relationship with somebody and you think that you are very good friends. But you will know him only when you ask him to lend some money. If he does, it brings something to the relationship that seems stronger than ever before or it can suddenly weaken the relationship if he doesnt. This person may say that he has a certain feeling, but if it is not carried out in the money world, there is something less real about it.Since money is so important to us, we consider those who possess a lot of it to be very important. The author interviewed some millionaires in researching his book.Question: What is the most surprising thing you have discovered about being rich, because you are a self-made man?Answer: The most surprising thing is how people give me so much respect. I am nothing. I dont know much. All I am is rich.People just have an idea of making more and more money, but what is it for? How much do I need for any given purposes in my life? In his book, the professor uncovered an important need in modern society: to bring back the idea that money is an instrument rather than the end. Money plays an important role in the material w
