So she couldnt hear. / But she could learn.【能力目标】在完成知识目标的基础上,通过游戏和阅读比赛活动的开展,培养学生的合作能力、竞争意识和综合运用语言知识的能力。【情感目标】通过学习Helen Keller这位世界上着名身残志坚有志之人的优秀事迹,让学生学有所得,学有所悟,希望她的精神能激励和教育我们的学生在任何时候遇到艰难永不退缩。 教学重难点【教学重点】学生能够用could, couldnt来描述过去所具备和不具备的能力。【教学难点】学生能够流利地使用正确时态来描述自己的能力,能够复述Helen Keller的伟大事迹。 课前准备1.课前准备:调试光盘与课件、给学生分组、为学生布置预习作业等; 2.教具学具:光盘、大卡片等。 教学过程Step1. Warming up and preparation:1) Greetings. 2) Lead inT: Can you speak English?S: Yes, I can. / No, I can. (Ask more questions like that.)T: But when you were three years old. As a little child, could you speak English? Could you write Chinese?S: No, I couldnt. / Yes, I could.(设计意图:在和学生交流的过程中复习运用can 的句型描述能力,引导学生对比自己还是小孩子的时候能做的事情,学习运用could 句型,为学生创设真实的语言背景和语言素材。)Step2、Presentation1. Introduce Helen KellerT: We can see, we can hear and write now .We could hear, we could speak when we were a small child .But there is a girl, as a small child ,she became blind and deaf, she couldnt hear ,when she grown up, she learned to speak read and write. She wrote a book, and went all over the world; do you know who is she?S: She is Helen Keller.T: Here I have some information about Helen Keller in Chinese. Lets have a look. (Show a photo of Helen Keller with the introduction in Chinese) When Helen Keller was a child, she was ill. So she couldnt see and she couldnt hear. Helen Keller couldnt see, she was blind. And she couldnt hear, she was deaf. (板书重点句型,出示单词blind 、deaf) How did Helen Keller learn to speak? Yes, her teacher Ann Sullivan drew the letters in Helens hand. So she learned to speak and read and write. Later, she could read and write. (The teacher drew letters in Helens hand.) (板书重点句及单词drew)T: After many years, she wrote a book about herself. She went all over the world. Is it difficult? Is Helens teacher great? I think Helen is much greater; she is a model for people and for everyone. Do you agree? (出示新单词herself、model 、短语all over以及重点句) (设计意图:充分运用多媒体设备,引导学生初步认识Helen,再通过让学生亲自感受Helen老师教其说话学习过程的艰辛,以此为线索,学习新单词短语,感受Helen的精神,理解为什么Helen是我们每个人的榜样。)2、教师领读单词、短语以及重点句。3、学生用各种形式读单词、短语以及重点句。4、要求学生在练习本上写这些单词和短语。Step3、Practice1)Pair work:Talk about what could you do and what couldnt you do.2)Group work:T: Do you think Helen is your model? Lets tell the story to your friends. Here I have some keys on the screen, and they will help to you to tell this story. (出示重点语句) Lets have a try! (各小组成员复述本故事给大家听,可以一人一句,也可以选派代表进行复述。)(设计意图:运用黑板上已经板书的重点词语和句型,引导学生通过小组合作的形式讲故事,锻炼学生的语言表达能力
