摘要 朱迪斯菜特( 1 9 i5 - 2 0 0 0 ) 是澳大利亚多产诗人、评论家和短篇小说家， 曾发表5 0 余部著作。同时，她还是一位环境保护论的支持者，为土著人土地权 呐喊助威的社会活动家。迄今为止，国内对莱特的研究还非常不足，相关资料 匮乏。本文的初衷在于推动中国莱特研究的发展。 文章的第一部分简要概述了莱特的生平及其诗歌创作成就。由于莱特在澳 大利亚文坛和世界文坛上的煊赫地位，国外对其作品主题和创作风格的评论数 不胜数。基于此，本部分将道明这篇论文的目标、必要性和预计达到的效果。 第二部分主要论述莱特对诗歌创作的基本主张。莱特在创作过程中需要面 对玄学，诗歌传统与革新、理性与想象、自为性与自发性以及机体论等问题。 她往往采取综合折中的态度对待它们之间的矛盾。总体而言，她的文学主张倾 向于传统，但是她显然受到极深的现代文学的影响。 第三部分阐释莱特的现代主义思考。笔者将从四个方面观察莱特诗歌的现 代特征。在创作中，莱特承担起哲学反思的责任，不断思考时间的意义以及跨 越时间的方式。有时她会借助象征，表达不可言传的感受，从而进一步赋予诗 歌一种能力完成存在状态的能力。 第四部分强调了莱特诗歌中的两大主题爱与自然。莱特的爱情诗超越 了情爱。她认为爱是生命的推动力，它应该是对整个人类和世界的“大爱”。此 外，莱特也通过爱的主题流露出她颇具女性主义的思想。出于对世界的爱，菜 特对人类共同的家园表现出极大的关注。她痛斥割裂人类与自然关系的行为， 呼吁大家保护生态环境。 笔者有意独辟一章，探讨莱特的东方情结。第五部分通过对其诗歌的赏析， 表明莱特的后期作品蕴涵了东方( 主要是日本和中东) 的哲理与人生观。这是 在发现西方哲学无法治愈社会疾痼后，莱特向东方思想的一个重大转变。
