English!?As well as we known, English is the most important language in the world and it is one of the most important subjects in university, so we should learn it well. Learning English just like learning other language, is hard work so we should spend lots of time on it every day. As Miss Sun put it, “Hard working, Faith, Persistence. So, the surest way to have a meaningful, happy life is to set goals mattering to us and to the world and run ahead finally to the terminal of happiness with our continuous devotion.” Indeed, Miss Sun is my favorite English teacher, and I love her forever.Real life does reveal that the lack of the consciousness of learning English is in large measure detrimental not only to personal life，but to the further development of the whole society. In no country other than China, it has been said, is this problem more urgent and serious. The past three decades have witnessed our overwhelmingly excessive emphasis on material benefits and unawareness of the importance of English study which have been increasingly becoming indispensable to the health of economy, the stability of polity and pursuit of happiness.More specifically speaking, individuals, enterprises, organizations and even the whole society fail to notice the damaging consequences of no English study when undergoing the dramatic social transformation.No thinking man would refuse to admit the fact that the commitment to national and individual prosperity requires a prevailing and flourishing trend of this driving force. Put it another way, were there no English study, we would never taste the real happiness of the success in the long run.Confronting with such an intimidating reality, we are expected to enhance the sharp awareness of consequently damaging effects of ignoring English study. It is imperative that this negative trend, constituting a permanent menace to harmonious society construction, be harnessed and curbed by the corresponding laws and regulations. Only in a reasonable, prosperous and healthy atmosphere can we hope to witness the ideal scene in which people can enjoy their life to the uttermost.Learning English can be a very difficult task for most people, this is because we dont live in an environment where we are forced to speak or write English. So I think the best way to learn English is by communicating with others using the language itself and not just learn from the book. Im sure if you live in an environment such as a foreign country and were forced to speak and write English everyday then your English will improve dramatically. Although we must agree that we need to read and write English from the book in order to get the foundations that we need for basic communication, this is essential but as I said, this is only a foundation, what you develop afterwards all depends on your ability to adapt to an environment and your courage.Fact tells us that English study is and remains to be an integral part in this ever rapid changing modern society. It is the modern virtues that spark and fuel the sustained social progress and continuous betterment of culture when we are undergoing the ever most rapid economic growth. English study emerges as the most thriving one among them. With the influence of this action, people who have benefited from others good deeds will treat others with love, sincerity, sympathy, enthusiasm, hospitality or generosity. In other words, were there no English study, we would never taste the civilization of the modern society.Any thinking man would admit that our ardent love for life will further guarantee the prosperity of this life-affirming force which will usher a completely new horizon for the great renewal of our nation. In view of the importance of such a positive phenomenon, we must, doubtless, establish a coordinated mechanism to ensure its everlasting rewarding effects on our society. Only in a reasonable, prosperous and healthy atmosphere can we hope to witness the ideal scene in which people can enjoy their life to the uttermost.We should have good ways of learning English, such as listen to the teacher carefully, review what is learned regularly, prepare each lesson carefully before class, do our homework carefully, copy good sentences and recite them and attend English debates and speech contests. Whats more, it is very useful to listen to English programs and read English magazines and books. When we make mistakes, correct them at once. Dont be shy of asking others for help when we have difficulties. I believe practice makes perfect. I am sure if we study hard, we will learn English well. We have more and more ways to communicate, but less and less to say. Partly because we are so busy communicating. And we are rushing to meet so many deadlines that we hardly register that what we need most are lifelines.So what to do? More and more people I know seem to be turning to yoga, ormeditation, ortai chi；those arent New Agefads so much as ways to connect with what could be called the wisdom of old age. Two friends of mine observe an “Internet Sabbath ” every week, turning off their online connections from Friday night to Monday morning. Other friends take walks and “forget” their cellphones at home.People who do not have access to a good listener may not only be denied the opportunity to heighten their self-awareness, but they are also denied valuable feedback as to the validity and acceptability of their inner thoughts and feelings. By discussing these with others, we receive feedback as to whether these are experiences which others have as well, or whether they are less common. Furthermore, by gauging the reactions to our self-disclosures we learn what types are acceptable or unacceptable with particular people and in specific situations.Practice tells us that nothing can be compared with English study when it comes to the cultivation of individual characteristics and the personal growth. Put it another way, without it, one could hardly achieve their goal. Due attention to this quality is attached by individuals and even the whole society. People with English study can not only accumulate wealth, but will also establish their career,
