To improve students communication ability, we should start with activities, practice more, and make the class related to their lives. The new curriculum standard tells us, improve students ability in listening, speaking, reading and writing, and their ability to communicate in English.Analysis of the material Going on with the topic of “looking good, feeling good”, the reading material comes from three e-mails between Amy and Zhou Ling. Amy wants to be thin, and after therapy, she understands the relation between beauty and health. Through learning this passage, encourage students to know the value of health, and the importance of friendship and love. Through discussion, students will know some ways keeping healthy, and they will form a good habit.Analysis of the students After learning reading skills, students have grasped skip-reading and overview reading, but most of them couldnt communicate in English very fluently. They are smart and eager to study and express themselves. Some of them learn well, and they are happy to speak English. I divide the class in to three groups as the guests of this TV interview shows: Friends of the character, Nutritionists, Psychologists. The teacher plays the role of the host.Step1 Lead-in1. Broadcast the VCR-Are teens trying to stay slim to an extreme from BBC,then transpose to our calss, which can lead students to the TV show situationT: “Good morning ,Ladies and Gentleman! Welcome to Heart Garden made by Channel YOUNG STV .I am the host. Todays topic is Dying to be thin. There are three groups: Friends of the character, Nutritionists, Psychologists. Lets talk together to solve the problem today. Finally, lets see which group can get the most stars according to your active cooperation. Are you ready? ”S: “Yes! ”.T: “First ,let me show you some pictures. Do you know them”Show students some pop starspicturesT: “Whom do you like better, the thin or the fat? How can we become thin?S: “The thin.”T: “How can we become thin? Then we will meet todays heroineAmy.Step2: ReadingIn this step, first ask students to describe the events step by step and then ask all the class to retell againDesign intent: Retelling can not only improve studentsability in reading, but also encourage them to study by themselves. And what advice would you give to Amy? Discussion can train students ability in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Every student has a chance to speak. Students will be encouraged to express themselves. Their creativity will be improved. Teaching activity actually turns into a communicative activity. In the teaching process, students work together, help and encourage each other, changes getting knowledge to understand, grasp and use knowledge. They will become active instead of passive. Through communication, they will find problems and solve them, and then improve themselves. Correction of errors between friends is easier for them to accept, which makes them less fear. After learning the passage, knowledge will be turned into skills and ability. Students will use these skills and ability to solve problems in their real lives. Blackboard design Module1 unit1 Reading Step1:Lead-inStep2: Reading E-mail1 E-mailt2 E-mail3 Step3:ConsolidationStep4:DiscussionStep5: HomeworkStep6: Self-assessment教学课题Module 1Unit3 ReadingDying to be thin(疯狂地想瘦身)课程类型阅读课授课地点多媒体教室教理学论设依计据 英语教学是一种生活教学,所以它也是活动教学,教学过程也是交际活动过程。只有从组织教学活动入手,结合生活实际,大量地进行语言实践,使英语课堂生活化,交际化,才能有效地培养学生运用英语进行交际的能力。新课标提出:“外国语是学习文化科学知识,获取世界各方面信息和进行国际交往的重要工具。”和“发展听、说、读、写的基本技能,提高初步运用英语进行交际的能力,”,在结合本班学生的实际,对教材进行了适当处理。教材分析 秉承本单元looking good, feeling good的话题,阅读部分的材料为来自一对好朋友Amy和Zhou Ling 的三封邮件。讲述Amy冒着生命危险减肥,在及时治疗后,终于明白beauty和 health之间的正确关系。旨在通过此文章学习,让学生深刻领悟出健康的价值,以及社会上人与人之间的友谊和关爱的重要性。能通过阅读讨论了解保持健康的各种方法,鼓励和帮助同学朋友合理饮食加以积极得参加体育锻炼,养成良好的生活习惯。学情分析 经过一段时间的高中英语阅读技巧的系统学习,学生已经掌握了略读、跳读等一定的阅读技所以能够分析读懂此文,但大部分运用英语进行交际活动的能力较差,因而要加强此方面的训练。他们学习比较认真,求知欲旺盛,思维比较活跃,同时表现欲也很强。部分学生的基础较好,能主动配合老师,愿意开口讲。他们有着高中生独立、爱表现,张扬个性的特点。因此,一旦因材施教,设置他们感兴趣的活动,就能让他们投入到课堂活动中来。教学重点1.掌握本篇课文的重要词汇Gym slim figue weight ashamed recover liver attractive embarrassed等等2. 分别对三封信进行分析与主旨理解,明白健康的重要性3.能回答出个段所设置的相关问题,提高运用英语的综合能力。4使学生能够合作完成此课任务教学难点 1如何使学生能正确的进行英语表达,提高交际的能力 2如何能使学生积极地参与双人或小组的讨论,创设情景进行交际,有效完成任务 3. 如何引导学生在段落篇章阅读中运用略读、细读、语义场以及对文章风格特点把握的训练。 4. 如何引导学生通过课文的学习明白健康的重要性并且积极讨论总结科学减肥的方法,促进学生自主学习。 5. 怎样以阅读课的教学为依托,全面训练学生的听、说、读、写能力教学目标(一)、知识目标 1本课重点的词汇(见教学重点第1点)。(二)能力目标 1充分理解课文大意并完成所给的任务。 2用所学的词汇正确组织与表达语言与伙伴进行交流、沟通,学会交际。(三)、情感目标 利用多媒体手段加强学习本课内容及相关英语表达的氛围,使学生不自觉地进入情景之中,充分调动学生的思维活动和情感体验,充分引起学生对健康的重视。本部分旨在培养学生通过自主阅读,合作探索,来获取有关知识,扩大他们的词汇量,提高阅读能力,强化健康意识,使他们正确对待美丽与健康,形成科学生活习惯。教学方法1.情境教学法 2.任务型教学法: 3.交际法:学法渗透合作学习教学手段 1.多媒体辅助:将本课所需要的动画、录音、图片、文字、图表和音乐制成CAI软件使抽象的语言变得直观,为学生运用英语进行交际创设情景。 2.非测试性评价:传统的评价观念的出发点是学科本位,只重学科,不重学生发展。要体现新课程标准的实施效果,评价体系应该“正确反映外语学习的本质和过程,满足学生发展的需要”。为了达到这一目标,唯有重视形成性评价,充分发挥其积极作用,促进新的评价体系的形成。因此,本课我将各种活动设计成小组活动并开展小组竞赛和填写课堂自我评价表等非测试性评价手段,帮助学生学会自主学习,学会与人合作,培养创新意识以及具备科学的价值观。Teaching Procedures教学过程设计 整节课以电视节目秀的形式展现。我把学生分成参加本节目的三类嘉宾:主人公的朋友,营养师,心理学家。老师则表演节目的主持人。第一步 导入部分1.播放关于青少年瘦身的视频短片,引入本节课的话题T: “早上好,欢迎来到心灵花园节目。我是主持人。今天的话题是瘦身。我们今天请来三组嘉宾:主人公的朋友,营养师,和心理学家。让我们一起来探讨和解决关于瘦身的一些问题。最终,我们来看看哪一组得到的五角星最多,你们准备好了吗?”2.展示一些明星的图片,提问学生喜欢哪一位,瘦的或者是胖的,我们怎么才可以变瘦。学生可能会回答:节食,运动,接受外科治疗,吃减肥药T:同学们认为吃减肥药既有效有健康嘛?学生可能会回答:不。T:没错。可是不幸的事情同样也发生在了Amy的身上。让我们有请Amy.设计意图:把正堂课虚拟上海生活时尚频道-心灵花园节目的录制现场。让学生有种身临其境的感觉,紧紧抓住学生的好奇心,顺利展开我们的话题。在导入部分简单讨论时下减肥方法给学生热身,让学生初步认识到吃减肥药是不正确的,有害健康的。以此引出今天的话题人物Amy第二步:阅读在这一部分中,首先让同学们阅读第一封电子邮件,然后让学生复述其中内容。设计意图:运用复述教学方式不仅可以锻炼学生的阅读理解能力对事件有大致的了解,同时让学生自主学习,自己组织语言来表述事件经过给学生语言的替换能力和口头表达能力的锻炼机会第二封电子邮件T: “在第一封电子邮件中,我们知道了Amy吃减肥药使自己瘦身7公斤,这让她感觉很疲惫。但是,接下来发生了什么呢?她成功了吗?请听第二封电子邮件,完成下面的表格和判断正误。”whereIn hospitalWhatRecover from liver failurewhyPills contain a harmful chemical.HowLi Dong donated more than half of his liver to her.1.Amy is now recovering from a bad cold in hospital.
