高级英语论文文学与文化部分title: after reading robinson crusoe robinson crusoe is a well-known realist memoirs adventure novel, which is a famous 18th-century english writer, daniel defoe, inspired by a scottish sailors experience of distress at sea. defoe in the book created a new character who confronted the challenges of nature bravely - robinson crusoe.the story is mainly about the hero robinson crowthorne. when he was riding the boat to travel around the world, unfortunately, his boat met a storm en route; sailors and passengers on board were all died, and only robinson survived. he was rolled on the beach by waves. at first, he was wrapped with pessimism and despair. after overcoming these psychological problems, he regained his perseverance and began to struggle against the nature heroically. he drifted alone to a deserted island. to survive, he made a raft from the sunken boats mast to the ship food, clothing, and tools to the island for many times. besides, he put up a tent in the hill-side to settle down. he relied on his hands and wisdom, utilizing the firearms and simple tools, lived in the wild and desolate island self-reliantly. through unremitting efforts, he not only had his own home and furniture, as well as pasture, plantations, and even kept a pet. he met a native man who was called friday by him later and they became extremely intimate friend. at the end of the story, robinson got back to britain. he returned to his original life. he got married and lived comfortably. however sometimes he really missed his best friend friday and the life in the island.the first half of the 18th century, british society is stable and advocated neo-classicism about literature. the neo-classicism held in esteem logos. it emphasized clarity, symmetry, restraint, elegance, and pursued the perfect art form and harmony. the representative of the poet was pope. on the other hand, the spirit of the enlightenment was showed mainly by essayists. they promoted the art of prose, but also opened up two new areas of literature - journals and realistic novel.at the same time the rise of the novel also makes the 18th century known as the prose century. daniel defoe (1660-1731) of robinson crusoe adopted a realistic approach, described the heros life on the island and set the image of bourgeois pioneers and colonialists, with the spirit of the times. the novel was considered as the founder of the realistic novel and made defoe won the reputation father of english fiction in the title.defoe is the most significant novelist in the history of english literature. comparing his life experience and adventure with the characters experience, his experience is still especially wonderful. he came from a small merchant family, and studied at the school which for who do not believe the state religion to learn. he did not comply with the fathers expectation to become a pastor, but became a dealer of underwear, and also did the wholesale of wine and tobacco and wool. so he went to spain france, holland, italy for business. when he succeeded in business, he was also very interested in politics.this novel came from a true story. in september 1704 a scottish sailor, who is named alexander selkirk, quarreled with the captain during the voyage. and then he was abandoned on an island in the atlantic in the south america for 4 years and 4 months in all by the captain, which is 400 miles away from chile. after four years, he was rescued by captain woods rogers. after he was rescued and came back to britain, he became a savage. defoe adapted selkirks legendary story as a model, pouring his own years of maritime history and experience in the character, and made full use of his imagination for literary processing, so that the robinson had become a hero of small and medium-sized bourgeois. this was the first idealized image of emerging bourgeoisie in western literature. he showed a strong entrepreneurial spirit and enlightenment bourgeois consciousness. selkirk on a desert island did not make any heroic deeds worthy of compliment. he and robinson were described as the person who had caught the goat and sheepskin clothing experience and had been harassed by cat. they had been domesticated with goats and a cat to be companions. they spent some hours in praying to god too. however, robinson had some differences with nasser cork experience in other areas.this is a widespread and far-reaching literary. the main character robinson is optimistic and full of energy. he embodied the spirit of self-struggle. his creative work and the results also reflect the charm of human wisdom. if a person faces a conundrum and no one can come to rescue you, you must learn to change the status quo optimistically. it requires amazing perseverance and indomitable spirit as robinson had. robinsons enterprising spirit reflects that the bourgeoisie is not satisfied with the status quo, and they are eager to explore the better future of the world.in fact, nowadays, when having difficulties in the life, many people always tend to choose to shrink back, rather than confront problems face to face with courage. apart from that, because lots of people now have only one child, a sea of parents regard their children as the apple of their eyes, and do not to mention let children take an adventure, and even do not let the little children learn to be independent. every day, they always said: my little baby, you just need study hard, and mommy and daddy sill do all other things for you. reading do is important, but the little things in our life cannot be ignored. just think that if you do not know how to do housework, how do you to survive in the deserted island? after reading this book, i can not help but ask ourselves: could i fight with the trouble and finally leave the island, if i meet a storm in the sea like robinson? im afraid that i would just have been flooded by the sea and swallowed by fish and shrimp. how many days can i stay, if i drift to an island? maybe i can live one day, or two days? what can i do? can i split or chop firewood? can i hunt and cook? we should learn from his spirit that one should never be afraid of difficulties when faced with any dilemma. whenever and wherever we must live strongly, even if o
