Procedure:
Introduction
Beginbyintroducingthetopicofactivelearninganditsbenefits.Writethefollowingquestionontheboardandaskstudentstodiscussitinpairs:"Whatdoesactivelearningmeantoyou?"
Afterafewminutes,askafewpairstosharetheirideaswiththeclass.Writetheirresponsesontheboard.
Explainthatactivelearningisanapproachtoteachingandlearningthatencouragesstudentstotakeanactiveroleintheirownlearning.Itinvolvesengagingstudentsinactivitiesthatrequirethemtothinkcritically,solveproblems,andcollaboratewithothers.
