LeungJanreceivednumerousstudentsinhisclinic(whichservedasaherbalstoreaswellasamartialartsschool).↓Amonghisstudentswerehissons,LeungChun〔梁春〕andLeungBik〔梁壁〕,andadisciple(门徒)namedChanWahShun〔陈华顺〕.ChanWahShunwasknownasacurrencyexchanger.↓ItisChanWahShunandLeungBikwouldlaterbecometheteacherofGrandmasterYipMan(叶问).

YipMan,borninthemid-1800s,beganhistutelageofthemartialartsasateenagerwhenhebecamethelaststudentofChanWahShun.WhenChanWahShunpassedawayashorttimelater,YipMancontinuedhismartialartseducationundertheguidanceofhisteacher’sseniordisciples.ApopularstoryrelatedthatwhileYipManwasinHongKongduringtheearly1900sforschooling,hewasintroducedtomanwhowasreportedlyamasterofthemartialarts.Beingyoungandbrash,YipManchallengedandlosttothisoldergentleman.YipmanlaterfoundoutthatthismanwasinfactLeungBik,thesonofhisgrandmaster,LeungJan.Pleaseseethemovie……ForthenextseveralyearsYipManimprovedhisownVingTsunskillsunderLeungBik’sguidancebeforemovingbacktohishometown.DuetotheCommunistPartytakeoverin1949,Yiplosthiswealthandstatus.HewasforcedtorelocatetoHongKong.Withouthisfamilyfortune,YipManluckilyfoundshelterattheRestaurantWorkersAssociationofKowloonandbeganteachingVingTsuntoitsmembers.
