东北大学机构知识库服务推广研究Title:ResearchonPromotingtheServiceofInstitutionKnowledgeBaseatNortheasternUniversityAbstract:Withtherapiddevelopmentofinformationtechnology,theintegrationandconstructionofknowledgebaseshasbecomeanessentialpartofuniversitiestoprovideefficientandcomprehensiveservicestotheirstudentsandresearchers.ThispaperspecificallyexploresthepromotionstrategiesfortheinstitutionknowledgebaseatNortheasternUniversityinordertoenhanceitsutilizationandbenefitsforitsusers.Theresearchfocusesonidentifyingthechallengesandopportunitiesfacedinpromotingtheknowledgebaseserviceandproposeseffectivestrategiestoaddressthem.1.IntroductionNortheasternUniversityhasestablishedanextensiveinstitutionknowledgebasetostoreandmanagevariousformsofknowledgeincludingresearchpapers,academicpublications,coursematerials,andinstitutionalinformation.However,theadoptionandutilizationofthisknowledgebasearerelativelylowamongitstargetedusers.Thisresearchaimstoinvestigatethereasonsbehindthissituationandproposeeffectivepromotionstrategiestoimproveitsutilizationandbenefittheuniversitycommunity.2.ImportanceandBenefitsofInstitutionKnowledgeBase2.1Facilitatinginformationretrieval:Theknowledgebaseservesasacentralizedplatformforuserstoaccessrelevantresources,savingtimeandeffortinsearchingforinformation.2.2Promotingcollaboration:Userscanshareandexchangeknowledgewithintheinstitution,fosteringinterdisciplinarycollaborationandinnovation.2.3Enhancingresearchproductivity:Theknowledgebaseprovidesacomprehensivecollectionofresearchmaterials,enablingresearcherstostayup-to-dateandfacilitatingtheirresearchprojects.2.4Supportingteachingandlearning:Facultymemberscanaccesscoursematerialsandresourcestoimproveteachingquality,whilestudentscanutilizetheknowledgebaseforself-studyandacademicsupport.3.ChallengesinPromotingtheKnowledgeBaseService3.1Lackofawareness:Manystudentsandfacultymembersmaynotbeawareoftheexistenceandbenefitsoftheknowledgebase.3.2Inadequateuserexperience:Theremightbetechnicalchallengesandnavigationaldifficultiesinaccessingandutilizingtheknowledgebase.3.3Resistancetochange:Someindividualsmayberesistanttousingnewtechnologiesandmayprefertraditionalmethodsforaccessinginformation.3.4Insufficientincentives:Theremightbealackofproperincentivesorrewardsforuserstoactivelyengagewiththeknowledgebase.4.StrategiesforPromotingtheKnowledgeBaseService4.1Increasingawareness:Launchingacomprehensivemarketingcampaigntohighlightthebenefitsandfunctionalitiesoftheknowledgebasethroughvariouschannels,suchascampusposters,newsletters,andsocialmediaplatforms.4.2Improvinguserexperience:Conductingregularusersurveysandfeedbacksessionstoidentifyareasforimprovementintermsofusability,searchability,andaccessibility.Regularupdatesandenhancementstotheinterfaceandfunctionalityshouldbeimplemented.4.3Providingtrainingandsupport:Organizingworkshopsandtrainingsessionstoeducatestudentsandfacultymembersonhowtoeffectivelyusetheknowledgebase.Offeringtechnicalsupportchannelstoaddressanyissuesorconcernspromptly.4.4Encouraginguserparticipation:Implementingarewardsystemorrecognitionprogramtoincentivizeuserstocontributetheirownresearchpapers,coursenotes,oracademicresourcestotheknowledgebase.Thiswillnotonlyincreasethecollectionofknowledgebutalsofosterasenseofownershipamongusers.4.5Collaboratingwithdepartmentsandfaculties:Establishingpartnershipswithvariousdepartmentsandfacultiestointegratetheknowledgebaseintocurriculumdesignandcoursedelivery.Thisway,studentswillbemoreexposedtotheknowledgebaseanditsbenefitsearlyonintheiracademicjourney.5.ConclusionPromotingtheutilizationoftheinstitutionknowledgebaseatNortheasternUniversityrequiresacomprehensiveapproachthataddressesthechallengesandopportunitiesidentified.Throughincreasingawareness,improvinguserexperience,providingtrainingandsupport,encouragin
