ofstonethatwasbuiltin605A.D.Butifyou'relookingforoneofthemostbeautifulandfamous
bridges,itwouldbetheGoldenGateBridgeinSanFrancisco.It'sasuspensionbridgebuiltin
1937.Ithasalengthof2.78kilometres.Ifyouthinkthat'slong,youshouldseethe
Danyang-kunshanGrandBridgeinChina.It'sover164.85kilometreslong!It'stheworld's
longestbridge.

ofmedicinedegree(学位).Drewspenttimeteachingmedicalstudentsanddoingoperations.
DrewwenttoColumbiaUniversityinNewYorkin1938.Heandotherdoctorsstudiedblood
plasma(血浆).Theydiscoveredthatifwaterisremovedfromplasma,driedplasmacanbestored
foruptoayear.Drewearnedadoctordegreeinscience.
In1939,WorldWarIIstarted.Bloodandplasmawereneededforwoundedsoldiers.Drewwas
directorofseveralbloodbanks.Hequicklydevelopedwaystoshipplasmaoverseastothesoldiers,
whichsavedmillionsoflives.
In1941,DrewbecameaprofessorofsurgeryatHowardUniversityandchiefsurgeon(夕卜科
