考点36读后续写01情绪描写突破(解析版)情感似人“手”人们常被情感掌控,受其制约。而中文中的“掌控”就是来源于“手掌”。于是,情感就可以比喻成一双无形的手,也就非常贴切了。我们发现:用于手的一些动作可以直接应用于某种情感。这类动作有:表示“抓住”类的动词:seize,grasp,grip,takeholdof表示“覆盖”:cover表示“撕成碎片”:tearintopieces我们来看下面几个例句:(1)Feargrippedherheart.她心中充满恐惧。(grip抓住)(2)Jealousyseizedher.她妒火中烧。(seize抓住)(3)Awildjoytookholdofher.她十分快乐。(4)Afeelingofpanicseizedher.她突然惊慌失措。(5)Anxietytoreherintopieces.她焦虑不安身心憔悴。(tore是tear的过去式,表“撕扯”)(6)Angerandbitternesscovereduponmeforweeks.我好几周都沉浸在愤怒和痛苦中。(bitterness是bitter“痛苦的”名词形式)情感似对手汉语里也有类似的说法:“我被什么情绪打败了”。将情感比喻为人的对手,那么人与情感之间的关系仿佛在比赛或斗争。但是汉语中,这种表达中情绪更多是负面情绪,而英文中,则没有这个限制。我们来看常见的动词有哪些?被情感对手“击败”。于是,动词通常是getthebetterof或者getthebestof(都表示“胜过”)。例如浙江2020年1月高考续写文本中就写到:Hestoodup,huggedhisparents,andsmiled,tryingnottolethisemotionsgetthebetterofhim.(他站起来,抱住爸爸妈妈,并露出笑容,努力不让情感控制他。)在这句里,就用到了getthebetterof的结构,表示“胜过”。我们再看几个例子:(1)Enthusiasmgetsthebetterofme.我太激动了。(enthusiasm热情)(2)Boredomoftengetsthebestofthem.他们常感到非常无聊.(boredom无聊)(3)Hiscuriositygotthebetterofhim.他异常好奇,(curiosity好奇心)情感似压迫者我们可以控制情感,反过来,情感也可以变得强大,反客为主,成了统治者,压迫者,我们被情感控制。这是动词可以是:oppress压迫,甚至是deprive(表示剥夺,deprive通常与of搭配),还可以是prey(捕猎,折磨)我们来看下面几个例句:(1)Worryingdeprivedhimofsleep.他焦虑万分,难以入睡。(2)Excitementdeprivedmeofallpowerofspeech.我激动得什么话都说不出来。(3)Astonishmentandhorroroppressedher.她惊恐不安。(oppress压迫)(4)Angerandbitternesshadpreyeduponmecontinually.我感到愤怒和痛苦。(prey本意是“捕猎”,在这里引申为“折磨”。非常形象的表达,“愤怒”和“痛苦”像猎人一样,而“我”成了猎物,不就是我被这两种情绪折磨着吗?)情感似动物情感也会有动物的一些特点,会悄无声息地“爬”到你身边,即用动词crawl/creep(爬),有时还会咬(gnaw)、吞噬(swallow/swallow)你。例如:(1)Happinesscrawlsuptothetipsofhisbrows.他喜上眉梢。(字面意思是“幸福爬到他的眉毛尖”)(2)Aslightfeelingoffearslowlycreptonhim.他慢慢感到一丝恐惧。(crept是creep过去式,意思是“爬”)(3)Self-doubtbegantognawawayatherconfidence.自我怀疑正在蚕食她的自信心。(4)Fearswallowedher.她非常惊恐。(字面意思是“恐惧吞掉了我”,是不是很形象?)情感似光线有人说:“积极的心态像太阳,照到哪里哪里亮;消极的心态像月亮,初一十五不一样。”所以说,情感和光线变化密切相关。我们也有这种生活体验在sunny(晴朗)的天气,人们会感到开朗高兴,情感像光一样散发(radiate)与传播(spreadacross),而在cloudy(阴云密布)或者dark(光线晦暗)则让人心情阻塞、郁闷不快。例如:(1)Joyshonefromhisbrow.他喜上眉梢。(2)Happinessradiatesfromherface.荣光换发。(radiate发散,发光)(3)Smilespreadacrosshisface.他满脸笑容。当然还有用“人或物”作主语的(4)Shehasbeeninadarkmoodthisweek.她这周心情一直不好。(adarkmood用黑暗来形容心情mood,当然是“心情不好”。)(5)Hisfacecloudedoverwhenheheardthenews.听了这个消息,他满脸愁云。(这个句子把云cloud这个名词当做动词用,over覆盖,cloudover这个词组把“乌云密布”这种形象就表现出来了)情感似重担在中文中,我们有时候说某种负面情绪的时候,可以这么表达“很压抑,压得我喘不过气来”,这里的“压”显示出,在描写情感时候,赋予它重量感。英文也是如此:忧虑、悲伤、愤怒等消极情感犹如重担bearon(压在⋯上面),需要人们carry(承受),而这些情感负担的unburden(卸去)、lose(失去)则会让人感到轻松、获得解脱。例如:(1)Griefbearsheavilyonher.她承受着悲伤的巨大压力。还有以“人”作主语的:Hewasburdenedwithworries他心事重重。(burden装在,负重。非常有意思是,在汉语中,“心事重重”中的“重”是一个多音字,也读zhong,“负重”的“重”。)(3)Themanagercarriedhisanger.经理怒火冲冲。(4)AfterIlostmytemper,Ifeltlighter.发脾气之后,我感到轻松多了。(lostmytemper字面意思好像是“失去了脾气”,其实就是情绪失控,发脾气)(5)Unburdeningherselfofherangergaveherasenseofrelief.释放了怒火后,她感到一种解脱。(第二个例子中提到了burden装在,负重,加上了否定前缀un,意思为“卸去负担”)情感似液体在汉语中,如果用一个成语来形容两个人感情很好,我们可以用“水乳交融”,水和乳都是液体。同样的道理,在英语中,情感也常常被比作液体。常见的名词有:波纹(ripple)或wave(波浪)或flood(洪流),常见的动词有:涌出(wellup),surge(涌动)甚至sweep(冲;卷),有时fill/brim/takepossessionof(注满/盛满/占满)容器,有时overflow/well(漫出/溢出)容器,在高温下甚至会boil(沸腾).我们来看下面的例句:(1)Panicsurgedupwithinhim.他惶恐不安。(surge涌起,字面的意思是“恐惧在他身体里涌起”)(2)Theterriblescenefilledherwithfear.恐怖的场景使她十分害怕。(3)Awaveofpanicsweptoverher.一阵惊恐袭上她的心头。(4)Thelonelinessandgriefesinwaves.阵阵孤独与痛苦袭上心头。当然还有用“人”做主语的:(1)Hisheartisoverflowingwithjoy.他满怀喜悦。(2)Icouldfeelangerboilingupinsideme.我感到怒火中烧。(字面意思是:“愤怒”已经“boil沸腾了”)(3)Hewasbrimmingwithsorrowwhenshelefthim.她离开他时,他满怀悲伤。(brim是“边缘”的意思,作动词表示“溢出”。悲伤这种情绪从内心溢出来了。)【情感描写积累】Hereyes
