percentofallagriculturallyappliedpesticidesenduponthesoil.Yet,toassesspesticides'harmsto

soilspecies,theagencyjustusesasingletestspecies,theEuropeanhoneybee,toestimaterisktoall

soilorganisms.Itspendsitsentirelifeabovegroundinartificialboxes.

Worsestill,assoilhealthgainpopularityglobally,pesticidecompanieshavejumpedupto

greenwashandpromotetheirproducts.Everymajorcompanyisnowadvertisingitsrolein

improvingsoilhealth,suchasadvocatingplantingcovercrops.Asgeneralbeliefs,thesepractices

areindeedgoodforsoilhealthand,ifadoptedresponsibly,areagreatsteptotake.Butcompanies

knowthatthesepracticesareoftenaccompaniedbyincreasedpesticideuse.Chemicalsand

pesticideshavetobeappliedmorefrequentlytokillweedsbeforecropsareplanted.
