Inrecentweeks,scientistshavereleasedtwoseparatefindingsthatindicatetheconsequencesofglobalwarmingduetotheemissionof"greenhousegases"primarilycarbondioxide(CO2)fromtheindustrialburningoffossilfuelsmaybefargreaterthanpreviouslyestimated.
Thenewfindingsstresstheneedforgovernmentsaroundtheworld,inparticulartheindustrializedFirstWorldcountriesthatareresponsibleformorethan80%ofpastemissionsand75%currently,totakeurgentactiontomassivelyreducetheworld'sindustrialgreenhousegasemissionsby60-80%.
