从此以后,沃尔玛不断开店扩张,1990年成为美国第一大零售商。1991年沃尔玛在墨西哥城开业,开始进入海外市场后、先后进入波多黎各、加拿大、阿根廷、巴西、中国、德国、韩国和英国市场,经过短短的10年,2001年的年销售总额达2198.1亿美元,一跃成为世界最大的零售商和世界最大的企业。
