音节的划分

音节是最小的读音单位。元音是构成音节的主体,多数音节由一个元音,或一个元音和一个或几个辅音结合构成。划分音节时,辅音是分界线,基本方法如下:

(V=vowel,C=consonant)VC/CV:两个元音字母之间有两个辅音字母时,辅音字母通常分别归于前后音节,如win-dow,let-ter;但th,sh,ch,tch,ck等字母组合或cr,pr,bl,fl等辅音连缀不能拆分,如fa-ther,A-pril;le结尾的单词在其前的辅音字母前划分音节,如ta-ble,ket-tle。

V/CV:两个元音字母之间有一个辅音字母时,如果前一个元音字母发长音或双元音,或者单词带有以元音字母结尾的前缀,则辅音字母通常归于后一音节,如e-ven,la-bor,pre-dict。

VC/V:两个元音字母之间有一个辅音字母时,如果前一个元音字母发短音,则辅音字母通常归前一音节,如min-ute;但是以el结尾的单词,无论其前面的元音是否发短音,通常在其前划分音节,如trav-el,reb-el。

(1)当虚拟条件句的谓语动词含有were,
