1、 Good morning , judges!Im candidate No.1 for English teacher of Junior 3.The topic of my class today is “How do we deal with our problems?”.Now lets begin.教学背景1、教材分析This topic is chosen from the reading part of Unit 1 in book 9 published by Peoples Education Press.The content introduces 3 ways to de
2、al with our problems.The course aims to teach ss to understand the text and master some important language points, such as “challenge”, “deal with”, and a key sentence structure “by doing something”. And it is intended to cultivate ss sense of optimism when they are faced with problems.2、学情Thats the
3、 analysis of the teaching material. As for ss, ss in Junior 3 have studied English for years, which has laid a comparatively solid English foundation. But they still have a long way to go in learning English well. Because their vocabularies are quite limited and the structures of sentences they wrot
4、e are too simple. This course just aims at expanding their vocabularies and polishing their sentences by reading. Meanwhile, the text involves a picture and is closely related to students daily life. This will make them concentrate more on studies since their abstract thinking ability is not fully d
5、eveloped.3、教学目标 After the analysis of the ss, lets move on to the teaching objectives.This course enables ss to understand the text and master some important language points as well as a key sentence structure. By using the task-based teaching method and situational method, the course develops stude
6、nts reading skills and trains their abilities of working in groups. Meanwhile, it cultivates students sense of optimism.4、教学重难点In this course, the teaching key points includes the understanding of the text and some important language points and a key sentence structure. While the teaching difficult
7、points is to develop students reading abilityto find useful information quickly.活动评价As for assessment, in the teaching process, I will evaluate ss studies based on their different situations as well as the teaching effects in class. I will encourage ss whose studies are not so good to answer some si
8、mple questions. For those comparatively difficult questions, such as use the phrase “deal with” to make a sentence, I will chose students whos usually done a good job in their studies. If they can answer it, I will also praise them. If they cant, I will find the good points in their answers and enco
9、urage them. In addition to my evaluation, students are supposed to make comments on each other as well. In summary, mainly based on formative assessment, evaluation will go throughout the whole class. And in this way I can be timely informed of ss studying situations and adjust my teaching projects
10、accordingly.课程设计1、教学法In this course, I adopt task-based teaching method. I pose a question and ask ss to discuss in small groups, such as in the reading part, ask ss to discuss ”We should solve our problems or learn to forget them”. By doing so, ss are trained to think positive. I also adopt situati
11、onal method. Through the presentation of PPT, along with the video and picture of Stephen Hawking, ss will come closer to the text.2、教学步骤Now Ill talk about the teaching procedures from the following 4 steps.Step = 1 * ROMAN * MERGEFORMAT I: Leading-in In this step I will firstly play the video of St
12、ephen Hawking to introduce the fact that he cant walk or even speak. Then pause the video for a while and ask ss “Whats Hawkings problem?” After that I will play the rest of the video which shows us Hawking has finally solved his problem and become very successful, educing the topic naturally.Step =
13、 2 * ROMAN * MERGEFORMAT II: Reading = 1 * ROMAN * MERGEFORMAT I Pre-readingHaving watched the video of Hawking, I will get the ss to talk about problems they are faced with and how do they solve them. The way of posing pictures and questions will get ss well prepared for the while-reading part. = 2
14、 * ROMAN * MERGEFORMAT II While-readingAsk ss to finish reading the text in 2 minutes and answer the questions on PPT. It helps ss to understand the text by using skimming skills.After that, I will get ss read the text again and try to to fill in the form on PPT which is related to some details of t
15、he text. Then get ss to pay attention to the language points and sentence structures I have marked in the form. Encourage them to guess their meanings. Then Ill explain them one by one. For example, introduce the word “challenge” by showing pictures. = 3 * ROMAN * MERGEFORMAT III Post-readingAsk ss
16、to complete a match which are concerned with the key language points. In this way the knowledge ss just learned in class has been consolidated and deepened.Then get ss to think “We should solve our problems or learn to forget them?” Divide ss into small groups and ask them to share their answers in
17、the discussion. During the process, I will walk around the classroom in order to be well informed of ss discussion progression and give ss timely instruction. And finally ask some groups to give their results of discussion in class and I will make comments on them.Step = 3 * ROMAN * MERGEFORMAT III:
18、 SummaryMotivate ss to summarize what they have learned in this course and see if I have anything to add. Step = 4 * ROMAN * MERGEFORMAT IV: HomeworkWrite a composition on how you solve one of your problems in which the structure “by doing sth” must be used.
