2、 see what someone/some place/something is like. vOr we may say description is painting a picture in words of a person, place, object, or scene. vA description essay is generally developed through sensory details, or the impressions of ones senses-sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch,etc.vLeave ou

3、t the irrelevant ones and keep those which help to bring out the dominant characteristic or outstanding quality of the person or thing described. (sample 1)4Example of Adopting Sight- A Friendly ClownvOn one corner of my dresser sits a smiling toy clown on a tiny unicycle-a gift I received last Chri

4、stmas from a close friend. The clowns short yellow hair, made of yarn(纱线), covers its ears but is parted above the eyes. The blue eyes are outlined in black with thin, dark lashes flowing from the brows. It has cherry-red cheeks, nose, and lips, and its broad grin disappears into the wide, white ruf

5、fle(花边) around its neck. The clown wears a fluffy(蓬松的), two-tone(两种颜色的) nylon costume. The left side of the outfit is light blue, and the right side is red. The two colors merge in a dark line that runs down the center of the small outfit. Surrounding its ankles and disguising its long black shoes a

6、re big pink bows. The white spokes(车轮的辐条) on the wheels of the unicycle gather in the center and expand to the black tire so that the wheel somewhat resembles the inner half of a grapefruit.
