2、oduced by as.预习目标:通过自主预习,能够正确识别定语从句。I. 用 that, which, whose, when, where, why引导词完成句子。 1.The place _interested me most was the Children's Palace.2. This is the girl _ you talked with just now.3. I'll never forget the day _I became a league member.4. I don't know the reason _he gave up his

This is the way _ he did it.7) They talked about the things and persons _they remembered in the school.II.观察以下例句,找出限定性定语从句和非限定性定语从句之间的不同:(1) The information that you offered is very helpful. The information, which is offered
4、on-line, will give us some help.形式不同:限制性定语从句主句和从句间不用_隔开;而非限制性定语从句主句和从句之间常用_隔开。(2) The girl who stood in the corner just now is my younger sister. Mrs Smith, who is in the corner, wants to meet you.意义不同:限制性定语从句与其先行词关系十分密切,如果去掉从句,剩余的部分意义不完整。非限定性定语从句只是其先行词的附加说明, 如果去掉从句,句子剩余部分意义完整。(3) This is the house
5、which/ that we bought last month. The house, which we bought last month, is very nice. He changed his mind, which made me very angry.先行词不同:限制性定语从句的先行词一般为_;而非限制性定语从句的先行词既可以是_,也可以是_.(4) The girl(that/ whom)you talked about just now is my sister. He just sole the house(that/ which)he bought 20 years ag

This book, which you can get everywhere, is useful for learning English.引导词不同 : 能引导限定性定语从句的引导词一般都能引导非限定性定语从句。但是,that 不能用来引导非限定性定语从句。(5)My uncle who lives in London is very rich. My uncle, who lives in London, is very rich.翻译不同:限定性定语从句一般先翻译从句,后翻译先行词;而非限定
7、性定语从句一般先翻译先行词,后翻译从句,形成两个并列分句。探究学习:非限制性定语从句应注意以下几点:1. 非限定性定语从句的先行词可以是整个句子,此时用which 来引导。The sun sends out light and heat, which makes it possible for living things to exist on the earth. 太阳发出光和热,这使得生物能够在地球上生存。2. When, where 引导非限定性定语从句,why 不能引导非限定性定语从句,用for which 来替代。1.) I had told them the reason, for
8、 which I didn't attend the meeting. 我已经把理由告诉了他们,为此我没有去开会。 2. )I had told them the reason why I didn't attend the meeting. 我告诉了他们我不去开会的理由。3. 在非限制性定语从句中,指人的关系代词作宾语时,只能用宾格whom; 不能用who替换,也不能省略。1.) Do you know Tom, whom we talked about? 你认识汤姆吗? 我们谈到过他。 2.) This book, which you can get at any book
9、shop, will give you all the information you need. 这本书会给你提供所有你需要的资料,它在任何一家书店都能买到。 (非限制性定语从句中引导词在从句中作宾语,无论指人还是指物都不能省略。) 4.as 和which 在定语从句中的用法区别。1) as引导的定语从句修饰表人或物的先行词,即先行词可以是人也可以是物;在定语从句中可以做主语、宾语或表语;常用于the sameas/suchas/as(so)as句型,as不论在定语从句中作何成分,均不能省略。Such teachers as know Tom think him bright. 先行词为人s
10、uch teachers, as作主语Ill buy the same bike as I lost yesterday. 先行词为物the same bike,as作宾语 ,指同一类事物此时注意和the same that 引导的定语从句的区别 Its the same bike that I lost yesterday. that引导定语从句,作宾语,指同一个事物She wore the same dress that she wore at Mary's wedding. (the samethat特指同一个)她穿着她在Mary婚礼上穿过的同一条裙子。 She wore the
11、 same dress as her young sister wore. (the sameas 泛指同一类)她穿着和她妹妹所穿的一样的裙子。That is the same watch as I lost. 那块手表和我丢失的一模一样。(the sameas 泛指同一类)That is the same watch that I lost. 那就是我丢失的那块手表。 (the samethat特指同一个)Its so heavy a box as no one can lift. 先行词为物so heavy a box,as作宾语此时应注意as引导的定语从句和结果状语从句such / so
12、that 的区分Its so heavy a box that no one can lift it. 结果状语从句so that 如此 以至于 He is such a good student as is liked by everyone. (定语从句,as在从句中作主语) He is such a good student that he is liked by everyone. (结果状语从句suchthat) that在从句中不充当任何成分,故不是定语从句,而是结果状语从句2).as和which都能引导非限定性定于定语从句,并都可以在定语从句中做主语或宾语,代表前面整个句子。He
13、 married her, as / which was natural. 他跟她结婚了,这是很自然的事。 He is honest, as we can see. 他很诚实, 这一点我们看得出来3)当非限定性定语从句置于句末时,as和which都可用来引导这个定语从句。但当非限制性定语从句位于主句之前时,只能用as.As I expected, he didn't believe me. 正如我所预料的,他不相信我。4) as 引导的的从句意义上与主句意义一致,表“正如”,此时不能用which. 常见的固定结构有:as we know /as is known to all(众所周知
14、),as we all can see(正如我们看到的那样) as is often in the case(情况常常是这样), as is expected (正如所预料的那样), as is often happened(正如往常一样) As everyone knows, Shakespeare is a famous writer.III.巩固1.)课堂训练案:将下列两个简单句合并成一个含有非限制性定语从句的复合句。1.
