口译人员职业道德准则

1、国际会议口译工作者协会关于职业道德准则的规定AIIC: CODE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS(In ternatio nal Associati on of Conference In terpreters)AIIC:国际会议口译员协会是国际会议口译人员的国际组织，以其入会资格严苛著名，其会员身份是国际公 认的合格会议口译人员的标志。该协会制定的职业道德准则对于我国的口译人员有较高的参考价值。 以下是职业道德准则的英文内容。I. Purpose and ScopeArticle 1a.This Code of Professional Ethics (hereinafter

2、called the “ Code ) lays down the standards of integrity,professionalism and confidentiality which all members of the Association shall be bound to respect in their workas conference interpreters.b.Candidates shall also undertake to adhere to the provisions of this Code.c.The Council, acting in acco

3、rdance with the Regulation on Disciplinary Procedure, shall impose penalties forany breach of the profession as defined in this Code.II. Code of HonorArticle 2a.Members of the Association shall be bound by the strictest secrecy, which must be observed towards allpersons and with regard to all imform

4、ation disclosed in the course of the practice of the profession at anygathering not open to the public.b.Members shall refrain from deriving any persnal gain whatsoever from confidential information they may haveacquired in the exercise of their duties as conference interpreters.Article 3a.Members o

5、f the Association shall not accept any assignment for which they are not qualified. Acceptance of anassignment shall imply a moral undertaking on the member s part to work with all due professionalism.b.Any member of the Association recruiting other conference interpreters, be they members of the As

6、sociation ornot, shall give the same undertaking.c.Members of the Association shall not accept more than one assignment for the same period of time. Article 4a.Members of the Association shall not accept any job or situation which might detract from the dignity of theprofession.b.They shall refrain

7、from any act which might bring the profession into disrepute.Article 5For any professional purpose, members may publicize the fact that they are conference interpreters and members ofthe Association, either as individuals or as part of any grouping or region to which they belong.Article 6a.It shall

8、be the duty of members of the Association to afford their colleagues moral assistanceand collegiality.b.Members shall refrain from any utterance or action prejudicial to the interests of the Association or its members.Any complaint arising out of the conduct of any other member or any disgreement re

9、garding any decision takenby the Association shall be pursued and settled within the Association itself.c.Any problem pertaining to the profession with arises between two or more members of the Association,including candidates, may be referred to the Council for arbitration.III. Working ConditionsAr

10、ticle 7With a view to ensuring the best quality interpretation, members of the Association:a. Shall endeavour always to secure satisfactory conditions of sound, visibility and comfort, having particular regard tothe Professional Standardsas adopted by the Association as well as any technical standar

11、dsdrawn up or approved by it;b. shall not, as a general rule, when interpreting simultaneously in a booth, work either alone or without the availabilityof a colleague to relieve them should the need arise;c. shall try to ensues that teams of conference interpreters are formed in such a way as to avo

12、id the systematic useof relay;d. shall not agree to underatake either simultaneous interpretation without a booth or whispered interpretation unlessthe circumstances are exceptional and the quality of interpretation work is not thereby impaired;e. shall require a direct view of the speaker and the c

13、onference room. They will thus refuse to accept the use oftelevision monitors instead of this direct view, except in the case of video conferences;f. shall require that working documents and texts to be read out at the conference be sent to them in advance;g. shall request a briefing session wheneve

14、r appropriate;h. shall not perform any other duties except that of conference interprteer at confenrences for which they have beentaken on as interpreters.Article 8Members of the Association shall neither accept nor, a fortiori, offer for themselves or for other conferenceinterpreters recruited thro

16、严格的保密准则约束。在任何不向公众开放的会议中，所有人 员均需对口译过程中披露的所有信息严格保密。2. 严禁会员利用会议口译员的职务之便，用可能获取的机密牟取任何私利。第三条1. 会员不得接受任何本人难以胜任的任务。接受任务意味着会员在道义上 承诺将以应有的专业水准工作。2. 任何会员在招募其它会议口译员时，无论后者是否为本协会会员，都应 给予客户同样的保证。3. 会员不得在同一时间内接受多项任务。第四条1.会员不得接受任何可能有损本职业尊严的工作或职务。2.会员应避免做出任何可能有损本职业声誉的行为。第五条会员可以出于任何职业目的， 宣传其为会议口译员和本协会会员这一事实， 包括本协会个人会

17、员身份 和本协会任何下属机构或区域组织成员身份。第六条1.会员有义务向同事提供道义援助和协作。2. 会员应避免任何有损协会或其他会员利益的言语或行为。任何针对其他会员行为的申诉，或是对 本协会所做出的任何决定有任何异议，应寻求所在协会内部解决。3. 任何两名或两名以上会员 （包括候选会员） ，如产生任何与职业相关的争端， 均可提交理事会仲裁， 商业性质的争端除外。三、工作条件第七条为确保口译的最佳质量，协会会员：1. 应根据本协会通过的职业标准以及由本协会制定或批准的任何技术标准，始终努力争取满意的 声效、能见度和舒适度。2.通常来说，在单独一人或在需要时没有同事可替换的情况下，不得在同传箱从事同传工作。3. 在组建会议口译团队时，应近力量避免经常使用接力。4. 不应同意从事耳语传译或在没有同传箱的条件下进行同声传译，除非特殊情况且口译工作的质量不 会因此受到影响。5.应要求可直接观察到发言者和会议室。因此，除非是视频会议，否则应拒绝接受使用电视视频代替 直接观察的方式。6.应要求提前拿到将在会议上宣读的工作文件或演讲稿。7. 如果条件许可，应要求举办情况通报会。8. 在自己已被聘为会议口译员的会议上，不得从事
