To make my speech much clearer, Ill describe my thoughts in 7 parts.Part 1. Analysis of teaching materialThe selected teaching material is
2、a dialogue taken from Story time, Unit1, Grade4, Compulsory Education textbooks. My topic today is “Our school subjects”(板书). The article mainly describes that children are talking about their school subjects in the new term. It is related to students daily life which can arouse students interests a
3、nd help them master language point better.Part 2. Analysis of students As we all know, the students in Grade 4 are very active, curious, interested in new things, fond of games and eager to show themselves. After learning English for 1 year, they have some basic English background knowledge, so duri
4、ng my class, Ill create some real situations and games to attract them. Part 3. Teaching AimsConsidering the contents of the lesson and the level of students, I design the following aims:Aims on knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to listen, speak, read the words: school, subj
5、ect, see, Chinese, Maths, Art, Music, PE, Science, timetable and the sentence patterns: Welcome back to school. Nice to see you. What subjects do you like? I like . Aims on ability: Students will be able to talk about their favorite subjects with each other by using the target language point. Aims o
6、n emotion: Students can enjoy their learning time. And they will learn how to cooperate with others.Part 4. Main point and difficult pointAccording to the teaching aims, the main point of this lesson is to make sure that students can comprehend the text as a whole and master the target language poin
7、t. The difficult point is the practical use of the sentence pattern in real life and the pronunciation of the words ”subject” “Chinese” “Science”.Part 5. Teaching MethodsIn this lesson, Ill use two teaching methods in my class. One is situation method. I will create a real situation and let students
8、 communicate with each other by using the target language point.The second one is task-based method. I will teach them to use reading skills to complete different levels of task. Thus, students will be more confident to learn English.Part 6. Teaching ProceduresNext, I will focus on my teaching proce
9、dures. I will finish this lesson in 5 steps.Step 1. Warm up and lead-inAtthebeginningoftheclass, I will let students enjoy a rhyme: Lets learn which weve learnt in Grade 2 and lead in the new word “subject” Thus, I can activate students existing background knowledge, draw their attention to the new
10、topic and make preparations for the following teaching. Step 2. PresentationFirstly, I will present the new words and sentence patterns in the real teaching situation. For example, I can say: Hello, boys and girls. Welcome back to school. Nice to see you again. This is our first English lesson. Here
11、 is our timetable. Students can easily know the meaning in the real teaching situation.Secondly, I will present the new sentence pattern by free talk with students. For example, I can ask students: Do you like English? Do you like Chinese? What about you? What subject do you like? With the task, stu
12、dents can master the new sentence easily, because the present of the sentence is from known to unknown, easy to difficult.Thirdly, I will teach the new words according to students own timetable. After that, I will play a game: whats missing to consolidate the new words. With the task, students will
13、find that learning English words is fun.Fourthly, I will give students the sentence pattern: Welcome back to school. Nice to see you. What subjects do you like? I like . Students need to work in pairs to talk about their school subjects on the basic of imitation. With the task, students can practice
14、 the sentence patterns and develop their speaking ability.Step 3. Practice Firstly, watch and answerLet students watch the cartoon and answer a question: Q. What are they talking about? With the questions in mind, students will definitely watch the cartoon carefully. In this way, students can get a
15、main idea of the text and be interested in the text.Secondly, listen and circleLet students listen to the dialogue then circle what subjects do they have. The task can develop students listening ability. Thirdly, read and match Let students read the text and match the information. The left parts are
16、 the names of the characters: Wang Bing, Mike, Yang Ling. The right parts are the subjects, students need to match the information correctly according to the text. With the task, students can know more details about the text and develop their self-study ability. Fourthly, let students read the text
17、after the tape sentence by sentence then read it in roles. The task helps students to improve their pronunciation and intonation.Lastly, I ask students to fill in blanks. The task can check if students can really comprehend the text as a whole.Step 4. ProductionFirstly, role play Let students work i
18、n groups and then perform the dialogue. The task aims to consolidate the language points and also improve students speaking ability.Secondly, I will create a situation that we are in a fruit shop, let students perform a dialogue. At the same time, I will give them some useful sentences. For example, Welcome to my fruit shop. Do you like apples? What about you? And students need to finish the dialogue with their imagination. With the task, students can use the language point in real life. In the whole class, I will g
