5、议Since the dialogue and the text of this unit are aboutchemistry , the teacher may ask somequestions about chemistryor other subjects to lead in the dialogue and then show thestudents the tolls that are used in the chemistry lab when the textis taught 。And also in order to make the class very lively
6、 and interestingthe teacher may borrow the tubes which are filled with three kindsof liquids from the chemistry lab and ask them to guess whats inthetubes and then ask them to watch the teacher carefully then dowhat the teacher。Does , which is the content of the text。 Inthis case the students may fe
7、el very new and they may beinterested in English class 。In order not to cause something dangerous to happen, theteacher may fill some white vinegar(白醋,some cooking oil ( 香油) ,some alcohol( 白酒) in the tubes 。重点词汇讲解1 。 first of all means first 。 意为首先,第一First of all, I want to say Im very happy tobe he
8、re with You 。First of all, we must make a decision。相关的词组: at first which is opposite to at last for the firsttime 第一次2 allow 的用法allow + noun 。allow sb。 to do / not to do sth。 /sb 。 isallowed to doallow +doing(1)He allowed no noise here。(2)He allowed his boy to spend the weekend with his friends 。(3)
9、 Why did you allow her to smoke here?(4) We dont allow drinking at school 。3。once 是连词,作“ 一旦就”讲。(1) Once she arrives, we can start 。(2)Once you realize it , you will study hard。(3) Once seen , it can never be forgotten。只要见过一次就难以忘怀。注意 once 一般和现在时连用。4。unless 是连词,相当于 if . not .(1) He will not come unles
10、s his homework is finished 。 =Hewill come if his homework is finished 。(2) You will be in trouble unless you follow my instruction 。=You will not in trouble if you follow my instruction 。unless 和 notunt il 的区别unless 引导从句时多强调条件,而 notuntil 句型则强调时间。Unless 连接的主从句的时态一般是主 句是将来时而从句现在时。not until 连接的主从 句中可以使
11、用多种时态。比较:(1) You will fail in the exam unless you listen to the teachercarefully in class 。(2) We wont start until Bob comes。(3) He didnt find out what had happened until his wife told himabout it。5。 Dont touch anything unless your teacher tells you to do。在此句末的 to 后省略了 touch 。 在英语里, 有些动 词像 hope,like
12、 , want , try , need , 助动词如 be able to 。, be goingto 之后,为了避免前后重复,往 往只用一个 to 代表动词不定式。(1) You can go with me if youd like to。(2) You may stay at home if you want to。(3)I dont want to go there , but hes going to 。 6 。 Whatabout when we leave?What about ?与 How about ?可以用来询问 消息、提出建议或征询意见,其后可接名词、代词、动 名词、副
13、词(如 next )和状语从句等。(1) Im ready。 What about you?(2) What about playing football?7omake sure 后跟了一个省略了 that 的从句。当(3) What about todays match?表示“ 弄确实、使确定”意思时, 常用在祈使句中, 其后的从句里要用一般现在时。当 make sure 表示“认 为、确信”的意思时,其后的从句时态可视情况而定。(1) Make sure (that ) you come early tomorrow 。(2) Make sure ( that ) your room is
14、 clean 。(3) We made sure you were not coming today 。我 们认为你今天一定不来了。8。turn off其反义词是“ turn on turn up ( 开大) 其反义词是 turn down ( 关小)9。at the end of / in the endat the end of 意为“在. 末,在. 尽头”,既可以表示时间的概念也可以表示空间的概念。而 in the end 只能表示时间的概念,其后不能接 of 短语,相 当于 finally , at last 。(1)At the end of this term we will ha

16、ws 。11。You must do everything as I do 。as为连词,表示方式,意思是“按照、如同”(1) State the facts as they are。要如实地陈述事实。(2) Why didnt you do as I asked?like /as 的区别like 表示“ 像、如同”的意思是介词,其后不能 跟从句。而 as是连词,要接一个从句。as 当作介词时表示“作为”。(1) He doesnt speak as others do。 ( 如、像 )(2) He has a big nose like his father。像)(3)He works in

19、 so delicious that I cant wait any longer 。14。 None of you watched carefully enough。none 为不定代词,意思是“ 没有一个人或物”。 none 做主语指代可数名词时,其谓语动词单复数形式都 可以,但是当它指代不可数名词时,其谓语动词为单数 第三人称形式。 none 常与表示范围的 of 介词短语连用 并表示全部否定。(1) None of them has / have got a bike。(2) None of us is / are afraid of the ghosts。(2) He never s
20、tudiesInsteadhe plays allInstead , each等感官动词(3) None of this money is mine。(4) - How many apples do you have?- None。none / no one的比较none 既可以指代人也可以指代物,强调数量,可以 用来回答how many 开头的问句。 而用法与意思基本相同 的 no one ( nobody)只能指代人,它们不强调数量,可 以用来回答 who 开头的问句。(1)How many people can you see in the picture?None 。( 一个也没有 )
21、(2)-Who is in the classroom?- No one 。(Nobody) (没有人)15。 enough 的用法enough + noun 。 /adj 。 / adv + enoughenough 可指代可数名词或不可数名词,其谓语动词 形式可依据它指代的名词的数来定。(1) Enough has been said on this subject。在这一点上说的已经够 多的了。(2)Enough were sent to him 。 He no longer wantedto have such books 。Would you please have some mor
