The only passengers, a young woman and her two baby daughters, were unhurt. It was the middle of winter. Snow lay thick on the ground. The woman knew that the nearest

2、village was miles away. When it grew dark, she turned a suitcase into a bed and put the children inside it, covering them with all the clothes she could find. During the night, it got terribly cold. The woman kept as near as she could to the children and even tried to get into the case herself, but

3、it was too small. Early next morning, she heard planes passing overhead and wondered how she could send a signal. Then she had an idea. She stamped out the letters SOS in the snow. Fortunately, a pilot saw the signal and sent a message by radio to the nearest town. It was not long before a helicopte

14、才），yesterday morning，last night/ week，the day before yesterday（前天），just now（刚才）等。2. 一般过去时的构成：主语+动词过去式+其它。如：They had a good time yesterday.3. 动词过去式的变化规律1）动词过去式的变化可速记为“直”、“去”、“双”、“改”四字诀。一般情况下在动词原形后直接加-ed。如：wantwantedplayplayed以不发音的字母e结尾的动词，去掉e再加-ed。如：hopehopedlivelived重读闭音节单词需双写最后一个辅音字母再加-ed。如：stopsto

15、pped以辅音字母+y结尾的动词变y为i，再加-ed。如：studystudiedworryworried规则动词过去式的读音也有规律可循。请记住：清后t，元浊d，t d之后读id。清辅音p k s 等后，ed要读t。如：workedfinished元音或浊辅音b g v z m等后，ed要读d。如：livedcalledt或d后，ed读id。如：startedneeded2）不规则动词变化，要逐一熟记。be动词过去式有两种形式，主语是第一、三人称单数形式使用was，其他人称用were。不规则动词时态变化表变化类型ExampleA-A-A型（现在式、过去式和过去分词同形）cost cost c
