4、f a project implemented to solve the problem that most of my students cant remember the new words. it is hypothesized that learners memory will be greatly increased by a better organization in this respect. this hypothesis is verified by a four-week practise of well-organized activities.among the me

7、g experience. that is: although i spend much time teaching the students to learn english, and although i use many methods to make them show interest in english, some of them just show a little interest in it.i examined my problem scientifically to see whether it is researchable. i discussed and agre
8、ed on the problem with the tuthor. at the same time, i worked out the timetable of my project. (to see appendix).second, i used several methods of problem analysis to analyze the problem. (to see appendix) they are the analytic method, cause analysis, interview and brainstorming. through the problem
9、 analysis, i have made up my mind to solve the problem.1. project objectiveto teach students how to remember new words.2. project hypothesisit is hypothesized that students will learn new words by heart if i can guide the class to remember new words.3. project rationale1)the role of speaking in clas
10、s and its purpose- i would like to give the purpose of communication, making it close to real-life. this means that the students should feel relaxed and free in class. they should also see that speaking to their peers has a purpose and does not have to be evaluated by the teacher all the time. the e
11、mphasis should shift from accuracy to fluency.2) the role of the students- i would like the students to feel that learning is not a competitive one, but a collaborative endeavour. they should come to realize that they can learn from each other and help each other, especially in speaking as it is not
12、 a skill they can practice on their own.3) the role of the teacher-students should realize that the teacher has many roles in the classroom, not just that of evaluator, i would like to demonstrate these different roles so that students realize when the teacher tasks a major instructional role in cla
13、ss and when she takes only a minor helping role. i would like students to get used to being responsible for their own learning and not depending on the teacher all the time.4) the types of class tasks used- i think all of the above can be dealt with by designing and using appropriate tasks in the le
14、sson. if students have to do information-gap tasks, which require them to gain information from their partner by means of questioning and listening and to give information to their partner by listening and responding adequately to questions, i feel they can be shown the value of communicating with t
15、heir peers.4. new words designi designed an adequate amount of activities to test the hypothesis. if the activities of remembering new words are better designed, the students will learn english hard and well.in my project i decide to improve my techniques of teaching how to remember new words.i have
16、 designed four activities to be tried out in four weeks. and these activities are reported as follows .week 1activity lesson 7 unit 1 book 2 learning english. purpose: guide the students to remember these words (run sorry jump stop stand time me sit sing down) according to the pronunciation. instruc
17、tion:“pronunciation rules” method-to remember new words according to pronunciation. students listen to the teacher carefully and then learn the new words by heart according to the pronunciation.procedure: the teacher explains how to remember the new words according to the pronunciation, and then stu
18、dents read after the teacher. students remember the new words in pairs. then ask some students to write them on the blackboard. week 2activity2. lesson 11 unit2 book2 learning english. purpose: teach the new words by sentences to make the students remember them easily. instruction:“making sentences”
19、 method-to remember new words by making sentences. the teacher teaches the new words by sentences and then students read the new words after the teacher, then students make sentences with these new words and remember them. finally check the new wards in pairs.week 3activity3 lesson17 unit3 book2 lea
20、rning english. purpose: guide students to remember the words according to word structures.instruction:“word forming” method-to remember new words according to word structures, including add prefix, add suffix or compound. the teacher gives the examples (eg: quick + ly quickly/ care + ful careful/ un
21、 + happy unhappy) and then explain it (adj +ly adv./ n +fuladj). students read after the teacher. students remember the new words and then check the words in pairs.week 4activity 4this activity is based as lesson28 unit 4book2 learning english purpose: play games and help students to remember words.
22、instructions :“playing games” method to remember new words by playing games. in class the teacher teaches the new words. then shows the students how to play games with the words. the teacher gives the word cards to the students, then say a word (e.g: last), the students who have the word “last” card
23、 stand in front of blackboard in order. the student loses who is the last. the teacher tells the students he/she will let them play games like this in front of the class next day. they will learn the new words by heart alone or in groups after class.5. project implementationmy students are one-year
24、students.it took me four weeks to implement my project. in four weeks, i want to know which class will win in the examination. finally, the students from class 1which have been taught how to remember the new words show more interest in english than the students in class 3 who havent been taught how
25、to remember the words. the score of class 1 is also higher than that of class 3. in class 1, there are 46 students saying that english is very easy and interesting, they are interested in it, but in class 3, there are 24 students saying that they are interested in english. after an examination, the

28、 analysis, interview and brainstorming. these are all acceptable methods suitable to my problem .i also used them properly. the project objective my project objective is to teach the students how to remember the words. it is researchable. it is realistic.the project hypothesis.my project hypothesis
29、is that students will show great interest in english. i have found that if i can guide the class in learning the new words by heart, the students will be interested in english and the result will be good.the project rationale.my project was based on the theoretical assumptions.the project designi ha
30、ve defined my project objective and hypothesis.i have stated my project rationale.i have worked out the details for project implementing. i have also planned the stages and timetable for the project implementation.the stages and details of project implementation. the stages are necessary and complet

39、lysis, i found a majority of my students do not like doing the assignment, and i wanted to know why it should be the case, and whether they thought it important and necessary to remember the new words or not? if they thought it important and necessary, the problem was actually caused by myself, not
40、by my students. probably the work i assigned my students to do was poorly organized.through the above analysis i realized that my problem is probably caused by my errorcorrection technique.cause analysisthe teachers side-that is myself.is it because the teaching step is poorly designed?is it because
41、 my explanations are not dear?maybe the teacher is not enthusiastic myself.is it because the examples are not efficient?the teachers voice is not loud enough for the students at the back to hear.the students sideat first the students do not know the importance of the words. and they pay little atten
42、tion to it.the teacher as their helper?some absent- minded students?is it because they do not like remembering?is it because they have any difficulties?is it because they have lots of other things to do?the class sizemy class has 55 students. the class size of over 50 students may have some negative
43、 effect. the classroom is too noisy.of all the causes, i believe that the teacher is mainly responsible for the failture. i want to know what my students think about the problem.brainstormingi discuss the problem with my students and with my colleagues.interviewi interviewed several students and fin
44、d out my weak points: my error-correction technigue is ineffective. i give few analysis and seldom emphasize the common mistakes.the results of the interview and brainstorming.the students dont discuss with their peers or the teacher when having problems. they do not usually study the corrections as
