(P84) 很快爱因斯坦就和这个小女孩肩并肩地走在路上了。解析:side by side“肩并肩”,类似的用法还有one by one“一个接一个”,neck and neck“并驾齐驱”,day by day“逐日”,hand in hand“手牵手”,face to face“面对面”,step by step“一步步来”。例如:They will debate face to face. 他们将当面进行辩论。4、The girls mother could not understand why such a famous man would want to spend time with her daughter.
